@geordie mine has done this as well. When I asked him why he stated because there was a number 69. When I asked him what made that number special he shrugged and grunted. He had no idea. It was just, if you see a number 69 you say nice.

    Me: signs up for new corp VDI instance and signs in.
    Me: discovers that we cannot copy/paste to/from my local machine
    Me: raises support case just in case it is actually a fault and not by design.
    Support: this is by design and is required by company policy
    Me: takes photo of VDI display contents on phone, attaches image to support ticket. Explains why the policy is pointless because it is trivially defeated and makes life harder for users/staff.
    Support: it rubs the policy on its skin or it gets the hose again.

    Yea so I KNEW that this journey was going to result in a whole slew of new learning. I have done some of the pre-amble learning required, despite what my brain may feel about said activities.

    I have then brought that new knowledge to bear against the goal. Now, everything I look at results in:

    • the appearance of a new very hairy yak, or many, and
    • a realisation that the way of I’ve been doing some of the adjacent stuff could be vastly improved.
