und fordere alle politiker:innen auf, sich grundlagenwissen über thermodynamik anzueignen, die erkenntnisse von wissenschaftler:innen zu wissentlichem geoengineering durch emissionen anzuerkennen, reale kostenrechnungen aufzustellen, anzuerkennen, dass kernenergie ein immenses gefahrenpotential brigt und heute verfügbare technologien zur effizienteren und ressourcenschonenden zivilisationsversorgung einzusetzen, statt auf durchbrüche neuer technologien irgendwann zu hoffen.

This exchange reminds me of the debate I had with Jeff Atwood on whether or not servers should use ECC memory a decade ago. Jeff said no and I disagreed and said yes in https://danluu.com/why-ecc/.

At the time, there was one argument that could've, theoretically, been overturned by progress: Jeff argued that commodity non-ECC memory was becoming more reliable and was highly reliable. This was not true at the time, and it turns out this still isn't true a decade later.

Hey, vielleicht habt ihr es schon mitbekommen: Zusammen mit der ARD positionieren wir uns neu am Streaming-Markt und starten mit einer der größten Open-Source-Initiativen Deutschlands. "Streaming OS" heißt sie. "OS" steht für "Operating System". Heißt: ARD und ZDF stellen zentrale Komponenten ihrer beiden Streaming-Plattformen öffentlich bereit, also etwa Player, das Login-System, Empfehlungscode oder den Kern unseres Designsystems.

Wir koennten in einer Welt leben, in der wir in beliebigen Routenplanungsauskuenften auf einen Blick sehen koennten, wohin wir mit dem Deutschlandticket fahren koennen. Die Infrastruktur ist da. Und auch der Weg, das maschinenlesbar zu codieren.

Stattdessen verbrennen wir Milliarden fuer KI-Quatsch.

Die Deutsche Bundesregierung zahlt in den Jahren 2021 bis 2025 für den Microsoft Handelspartnervertrag 1,27 Milliarden Euro. Zusätzlich für Schulungszwecke in den Ländern in den Jahren 2022- 2026 nochmals 23.652 Millionen Euro.
Na da fließt ein wenig Geld rüber über den Teich.
Das sind schon nette Sümmchen die wir als normaler Bürger nicht mehr ganz verstehen, oder?

so geht das nicht. ihr habt falsch verstanden. sie bedeutet nicht zwang und überwachung, sondern zusätzliche optionen und mehr . meine forderungen:

  • alle websites und apps
  • alle apis frei zugänglich
  • kein tracking
  • kein 3rd party content
  • anonyme buchung und zahlung
  • alle services auch mit analog-äquivalentem nachweis (zB QR code gedruckt)
    ein stinksaurer kunde. @digitalcourage @PRO_BAHN @echo_pbreyer

@XR_Nuernberg_sunny2 akut sauer bin ich nicht, weil ich selbst betroffen wäre, sondern allgemein aufgrund der gefährlichen frechheit, banking-logins abzufragen und der abschaffung anonymer spartickets.

Contrary to what I read on social media and in the mainstream press, when I think of the average software developer, I don't think of someone "moving fast and breaking things" in a cutting-edge tech start-up. I think of someone working in an established business on legacy systems that end users have come to rely on. Because that's what the vast majority of us actually do. Most software developers are in the distinctly not-cutting-edge business of keeping the proverbial lights on.

Every time I post a link to my site on Mastodon, it locks up for like 30 seconds or so.

My theory is that because I have a quite a lot of followers (👋 hii!) the post hits a lot of instances and they all poll my site at the same time, effectively DDoS'ing it for a lil bit.

One day I'll run a packet capture and prove this theory…

Wie ich feststellen musste, wählt jetzt auch den Weg von DHL und der DB, was bzw. angeht: Für den Zugang zu Kundendaten, Rechnungen etc. soll man sich künftig eine App runterladen. Aktuell geht der Login zwar noch unter:

das erfährt man aber erst nach Nachfrage.
