Do you think we have any control over who we are attracted to?

@RickiTarr I think there are different types of attraction. someone could post a selfie and I'd be like "hellooooo" but just in passing, like, "that person is extremely attractive to me."

but I think attraction with action is something that takes a conscious decision, and that comes with weighing pros and cons. when I was way younger, I acted on attraction without a lot of thought, and that taught me some lessons about making those decisions, but at the time I was like "this is gonna hurt but it might be worth it."

for me, attraction comes from a place of appreciation for someone else's qualities and traits. (for instance, my wife has the best laugh in the world as far as I'm concerned, and that's what caught my attention initially -- a sudden desire to be the reason she made that sound.)

@wolleysegap @RickiTarr I also went to a baptist-run school, so this is bringing back some memories. we had chapel once a week instead of every day, but besides that, it sounds like our experiences were very similar
