- a certain international organisation is looking for a PeerTube to do live . Any proposal?

At the moment I'm inclined to propose https://video.linux.it that is hosted by the Italian non-profit consortium, and also because we have sysadmins there for whatever question/issue, and activists.

Thanks for any suggested PeerTube for this context

Edited: not limited to PeerTube indeed. Anything FLOSS and user friendly would be lovely.

Nasce Richard Matthew Stallmann, riconosciuto come uno dei principali esponenti del movimento open source.

Nel settembre 1983 dà avvio al progetto GNU con l'intento di creare un sistema operativo simile a Unix, ma composto interamente da software libero. Nell'ottobre del 1985 fonda la Free Software Foundation (FSF).

Pioniere del concetto di copyleft, nel 1989 crea la GNU General Public License, una delle licenze libere più diffuse.

@filippodb @salvatorelasorella In realtà andrebbe benissimo avere "uno dei principali esponenti del movimento del software libero" - siccome parliamo la meravigliosa lingua italiana e nessuna persona fraintende "libero" mentre molte persone fraintendono "free"

Premising that I love to say GNU/Linux verbally, I love to say "Libre software," I love to disambiguate "Free software" and I always talk about "Linux" just like a trojan horse to then go deep and explain GNU; I share this irony:

It's a good thing that people "get it wrong" by saying "open source" - because when they do it right saying "free software", 50% people understand "freeware".

Note for speakers doing self-video-review:
Save environment (and time)! Avoid to try-catch the audio delay with multiple random attempts. You can just copy the video URL in software, and use the menu

This afternoon I had to send some promo material to @fsfe supporters, and to do so I had to find a post box 📮 nearby.

I looked for “Mailbox” in @organicmaps and I got it, just a few meters from the office.

Is there any other database that locates even mail boxes? Only @openstreetmap 🚀

@dasgrueneblatt I have popups too. But, I do not have the "notification tray icon" showing the number of incoming stuff.

Use case:

  • Thunderbird opened, minimized
  • I go to the toilet
  • Some popups appear
  • I turn back to my computer
  • nothing says "1 Unread"

@dasgrueneblatt Yeah. At the moment I've resolved disabling the native notification (that must auto-disappear after max 120 seconds) and keeping the ugly internal notification of Thunderbird that stays on screen forever, until click.
