danderzei,

@dgar Well, did he? He was put to death at the age of 31.

danderzei, to productivity

I don't use Zettelkasten to organise my notes. I use the primordial soup method.

My notes are a broth of ideas from which my books emerge.

danderzei, to emacs

Introducing the logo for my new project: Emacs Writing Studio. A book and configuration on how to use Emacs for writing and publishing articles, books, websites etc.

Training large language models on the outputs of previous large language models leads to degraded results. Less diversity, more bias, and …jackrabbits?

danderzei,

@janellecshane Relying on LLMs to write or create art is a pathway to mediocrity.

Once again Ted Chiang has it exactly right. The immediate danger from is not that it will become sentient and do whatever it wants. The danger is that it will do what it’s being designed to do: help rich corporations destroy the working class in pursuit of ever-greater profits and thus concentrate wealth in fewer and fewer hands.

danderzei,

@JamesGleick if the working class is too poor to buy their shit, then there are no more profits

Does Mastodon support rendering of LaTeX through MathJax?

A worm has been revived after being frozen for 46,000 years.

The poor creature will get a shock having to catch up on what happened since it was last awake.

If the money invested in artificial intelligence was invested in natural intelligence (the education system), the world would become a much better place.
