To think that when I was a spotty youth I rated this album. It's pretty dreadful. I don't rate it now. He's got a good voice, I suppose, but all the guitar histrionics are just awful. Doubt I'll survive the whole way through.

    @Neverfadingwood Well, it was interesting.

    I was in a group of students from all over the place and the hotel in its wisdom sorted out the people who had dietary restrictions and seated them all together at one table.

    That would be the Israelis and various Arabs. Oh yes. They got on fine, but it was a bit . . . thoughtless of the hotel management.

    Anyway, we were there a week and on the Friday morning it was announced that the hotel had gone bankrupt.

    An exciting visit, one way and another.

    @Neverfadingwood We got dragged round all kinds of dull institutions, unfortunately. I was only 20 and hadn't really got the hang of having fun in a foreign country at that point. Am hoping to go to Berlin next year.
