The weird thing about Regex escaping is you only need to escape the first part of a valid Regex pair if you’re looking to use that character. For example, look at the following regex. #dotnet #regex

URL Patterns is now a proper standard: https://blog.whatwg.org/2023/10. It's maintained by the WHATWG: https://urlpattern.spec.whatwg.org/. For example, the pathname pattern /blog/:title will match /blog/hello-world but not /blog/2012/02. If you've worked with HTTP frameworks like Express.js in Node.js, this will look very familiar.

Got a question because I'm useless at business. I get a lot of emails from companies asking me to do webinars, interviews, be a podcast guest, etc. They never mention any payment (not just no payment amount, but no mention of it being paid at all). Then when I don't reply, they follow up later with "btw we can pay you" and it's always phrased like they simply forgot to mention that in the initial email. I understand me being responsible for negotiating my rate, but having to negotiate getting paid at all? Is this the norm or is this just unserious companies trying to see first if I'll work for free and I'm better to just not engage at all with them at all?

#MyGet has been down for over a day without a single acknowledgment on their status page (https://status.myget.org/). We use MyGet in several places at UiPath but I suspect we may quickly migrate to all Azure DevOps.

I get that you can have a service down for an extended period. But not communicating with customers is unprofessional.

So I’m using type aliasing in #dotnet to make a switch statement “more clear”. I don’t know if I’m a genius or a dummy here.

I found this cool DevToys plugin for #JetBrainsRider. It has some neat dev tools to do some quick tasks like generate fake data, convert json to yaml, lorem ipsum, cron parsing, etc.

Some of these are built into the IDE already, but it's cool to have a UI as well.
