What I didn’t tell you is that we MAY have found a townhouse to buy, which we saw right before the verdict was read.

    Arghh, someone on our radio net spouting off the (false) $18 Big Mac story (being pushed by Fox News). -- ps the $18 Big Mac was a year ago in Darien, Connecticut, and was the only place with such a thing. Average cost in the US just below $6.

    One thing I've learned from our frequent trips to California, is a lot (n=5) of people here complain about how bad it is to live in a state with a vibrant economy, beautiful weather, and a state government that tries to treat the poor and disadvantaged with respect as if they are the only ones with problems.
    Come to utah, another state with a vibrant economy, beautiful weather, and a state government that treats corporations and the wealthy with respect.

    So here's how it's going:

    We got all the furniture into the POD and now have to pack what's remaining in the kitchen. So things are a little messy

    Our twins are down from Canada helping, & their dear friend is here for the night from San Diego, to see them. We adore her. But it's a little chaotic

    At 4:30 am we get a text--coincidentally we're awake--from our pal/realtor! We'd missed her earlier text, we have a showing today at 12:30. Oy. & why was SHE up?

    Busy day today, folks, so I'll be posting only when I can.

    PODzilla is coming with POD #2 any minute, and picking up POD #1

    Meeting with our realtor to brainstorm on selling our HouseWithoutAFingPool.

    Our twins will be in from Canada this afternoon to help us schlep furniture into POD #2.

    Hmm, finding a vegetarian Indian dish to make for dinner from scratch (which doesn't require a lot of ingredients I don't have and time) is an interesting challenge 🤔

    Thus, why Indian restaurants and grocery stores here with takeout counters are appealing, LOL.

    Hmm, wonder if I have been misinterpreting "cool, expressionless, not friendly" from a certain segment of the white male population as "must not be a friendly person" vs. "racist unwilling to talk to those he hates" 🤔

    (just mention this realizing how often I see that behavior in Gadsen flag/2nd Amendment people around here to a friendly hello).

    Being a Californian living in Utah, that's all the excuse they need. So I'm especially nice to the guy across the street who would be the most likely. Generally speaking, most neighbors around here are helpful and friendly. At least after 30 years, they are.

    We should. At the moment, I'm getting 100 pounds of chicken feed. I could carry that home on a bike trailer if I had one. (Zero elevation change between home and the feed store 5 miles away) but I also have to be prepared to drive to California on zero moments notice to attend to family duties and that requires bringing my wife with her accompanying medical equipment and a dog that we have no alternative care options for.

    Little known fact. In the 60s, the pineapple crop was in danger from a new insect. Francis A Gunther from the Orange Experiment Station at UCR was the principal investigator looking into ways to save the crop, but it was James H. Barkley, who did the field work. They came up with a suitable cure, and the crop was saved.
