@rolle my initial reaction is to instantly block. I don't have any trust in Zuckerberg et al. Having said that, maybe we wait and see how this develops. You never know

I didn't create @pixelfed for myself, and despite my best intentions, I can be wrong sometimes.

My recent post about app onboarding has received both positive and negative feedback, and I'd like to explore alternative solutions to this with feedback from @liaizon, @feditips and anyone else before we proceed.

Pixelfed is for the people, when you speak we listen, and we strive for community consensus despite my own opinion.

Unfortunately, I'll need another day or two to finish Import from Instagram to @pixelfed

I originally was testing against my own export, which is pretty small. I was able to get my partners export and it's over 1GB!

Rather than imposing export size limits, I'm refactoring to support any size without requiring admins to increase file upload limits.

It's pretty complicated, but the UX is really nice, so I appreciate your patience while I wrap this up!

I promise it will be worth the wait 😉

Experience issues with the new Import from Instagram feature?

We will be shipping an update today that fixes a few issues and makes the process much faster!

Previous imports will be able to be cleared, and re-imported. A "Select All" button will also make it easier to select all posts!

So, I started a process last fall to write a book with a publishing company. The results of that process come out tomorrow and that's really exciting.

I've been writing Eleventy By Example for Packt Publishing and it's finally for sale.

It's a project-driven book where we explore the basics of @eleventy and then expand out into more advanced topics including Serverless, API integrations and more through 5 different projects.

Came across this spring yesterday with remarkable cooling properties. The Fuente de Corcuela at Moclin. I suspect originally built by it's wonderfully creative Arabic originators. It might have been 30c+ in the sun but on entering this area we were met by lovely cool air, generated partly by the shade but also by the water circulating through and away to lower regions. A wonderful spot and worth a visit if you are visiting the Granada area.

I can’t say I know a lot of her work, but based just on her portrayal of Candy Montgomery, Elizabeth Olsen is one seriously talented actress. If you haven’t caught this HBO show yet, it’s really well done.

@AdamBishop Most of my group have a Facebook presence, hence the WhatsApp etc. I think a Frendica group could be more akin to a FB group for them, hence some familiarity. I have setup a Frendica profile and will have a play around

@AdamBishop Thanks. I shall have a look at Frendica as I've heard elsewhere that the group options are good. I have accounts on Element/Matrix but most of the group won't want to leave the safety and familiarity of WhatsApp 😀. If I can give them more of a community feel and involvement they might just try something different. Maybe?

Yesterday we hiked the Ruta Gollizno at Moclin. A beautiful descent into a dramatic gorge with rope bridges and a heavily vegetated (cool!) river valley, followed by a tough ascent in the afternoon heat back up to the town. The cold beers afterwards were most welcome!

@AdamBishop We were contemplating that in the bar afterwards. I think the anti clockwise route could well be better as at least there is interest and some tree shade coming back up to town. The way back we took was boring and monotonous in the 32 degree heat.

Had head down coding most of the day. Once you get into it it's almost meditational and robotic, so very therapeutic. Anybody else find this? And, then I get to a stage (10 hrs later) where the head just won't function and I need to shut off. This bit happens quickly. So, it's wine and pizza time 🍕 🍷
