@changelog would be happy to, but don’t really have an existing project to push, so if someone has ideas or needs contributors let me know :)

Maybe I should start a JavaScript framework called feminine.js, just in order to oppose JavaScript is something that is perceived masculine 🤷‍♀️

@lea would masc.css then not support corners? ;)

Here’s a thought experiment: If you had a small group of skilled mobile, desktop, server, and web front-end engineers who have access to time and money, and are eager to MAKE THE WORLD A BETTER PLACE USING THEIR SKILLS (and not just spin up yet another exploitive startup) what would YOU have them do?

Be specific.

Assume cost is no object.

It’s time to stop bellyaching about how bad tech is, and start brainstorming about what good it can do.

Please repost for exposure.

EDIT: Let’s add hardware, industrial design, and UX engineers in the mix as well, to round things out.

@drahardja Teach them to become social facilitators / that many hard problems cannot be solved with tech.

Here's the first proof of concept I've seen of a prompt injection attack against ChatGPT Plugins - the successful attack uses Zapier to access the user's email and then exfiltrates the data using WebPilot https://simonwillison.net/2023/May/19/chatgpt-prompt-injection/

@simon the next new thing ‘copy this into your chatgpt to do xyz… ‘

Got a mail asking if I'd be willing to run a course at a Berlin University this semester. I'd have to prepare and give 14 lectures (90 minutes each) and grade final papers.

Compensation offer: 1036 € before taxes.

Like. What? It's basically me giving them money to work for them.

fl0_id,
@fl0_id@mastodon.social avatar

@tante lol what tf. At an also private Uni on Spain I got a bit more than half of that for 2 1/2 sessions, and that was already not much.

How is Steam so widely used and yet a barely functional piece of software, why does it have no viable competitors

@seldo @SnowdenShecretz what are you doing? Never crashes for me. (Don’t want to invalidate your experience, just curious)

In July I'm gonna give the opening Keynote at the https://blockchain-society.science/ conference. It's gonna be about summarizing why the crypto space had to fail and why its weird beliefs connected to mainstream narratives. I'm also gonna draw some parallels to the ongoing "AI" hype.

Poll: Do you think the Web browser war is over (FYI, as of Feb/2023, Chrome has 79.7%, ME-Edge, 8.6%, Mozilla Firefox 4.8%, and Apple Safari has a 3.9% market share)? Please share for a broad reach. TIA.

@larsmb @nixCraft What Problems do you have with Sites on ff? This might have been true a few years ago but not anymore imo

People sometimes ask me why I often take very extreme decisions. It's literally how my personality works: I am unable to "just do this less/responsibly", I can stop doing a thing or I overdo it. I am super bad in between.

fl0_id,
@fl0_id@mastodon.social avatar

@tante totally the opposite, but on the other hand also don’t get really into one single thing most of the time. Like f e chocolate is easy, most of the time after a bit it’s too sweet for me anyway. Video games depends a bit more for me, I can lose track of time there but often the ‘just an hour’ thing works. What was harder and what I don’t do anymore is social stuff in video games like in mmorpgs
