Anyone who thinks Emmett Till being lynched in 1955 is ancient history should remember that 18 current members of Congress are older than him and the white woman Carolyn Bryant who got him lynched just today died—and that without any accountability whatsoever.
In short, this systemic racism and racial terror against Black people is not ancient history. It's not even history.
Remember: One of the biggest reasons the federal debt has exploded is that tax cuts for corporations and wealthier Americans have reduced government revenue.
If Republicans actually cared about controlling the debt, they’d repeal the Trump tax cuts or pass taxes on the rich.
