I can't remember a product/technology like OpenAI's that has changed so much in so little time in my lifetime. I'm not sure one exists. Not iPhone, not the internet. In the past year or so it has completely upended the entire tech industry; everybody threw their roadmaps out the window — pivot, inertia be damned. Even Apple is all hands on deck

It beggars belief that its board would trash that product & reputation overnight, without warning, with the intention of de-productizing their research.

Spitball idea for iOS: When doing a screen recording, automatically turn on Do Not Disturb for the duration of the recording.

So many times when I’m recording my screen, say, to have a video to send a developer with a bug report, the recording gets ruined by an incoming notification.

Not a bad day. I managed to get the new Epyc server built and sorted out how to run containers without root, then got mobilizon (https://meetups.infosec.exchange) up and running in a container on the new server. I am 98% complete with moving video.infosec.exchange there - peertube’s config files are dramatically different between a bare metal install (what the current site uses) and a containerized version - it’s been tedious to sort everything out, but I think I’m close.

Next will be moving pixel, elk, matrix, infosec.pub, and infosec.place to it. Matrix will be next as it’s running low on disk space.

To put everyone's mind at ease, I am discussing the situation with someone at Fastly. If I can't find a way forward with them, I'll be moving off. That is unsustainably expensive, though it is a pretty amazing service.

Also, I get a lot of questions about cloudflare - the community here has expressed grave reservations about using cloudflare for a variety of reasons, and I am not inclined to go against them.
