Which is better: dreams, or television?

@evan I don't know if this is what you meant, but I prefer dreams not because of their content but because they are naturally occurring. I think they must have some built-in purpose, whereas TV is something we can do without.

How many uses do you expect out of a USB cable?

@evan I guess I just expect it to be engineered well enough... I just don't see why plugging and unplugging would be wearing enough to wear a cable out within a few years of daily use.

All right, for the next 5 days I'm doing a big multi-bracket poll on the directions of a 16-point compass rose.

I scrambled the directions so they're not all clumped up.

Here are the brackets:

Southeast
South-Southeast

@evan @acroll Perhaps using an alternative space character for AI would be better than using alternative letter/etc. characters. That way, programs, spellcheckers, etc. don't need to know a bunch of alternative characters, and only need to know about the space character. And spaces are used in virtually all languages AFAIK

PSA: when I’m unanimously elected Grand Pooh-Bah and Emperor - it’s only a matter of time, since the current political model certainly isn’t working - the whole “Sunday is the first day of the week” nonsense in the US calendars will go away.

Just so you know.

Yeah, I can deal with it by just setting my locale to be UK instead of US, and since I’m ok with 24-hour time anyway, that works well for me.

I just want to save everybody else from this insanity. Who is with me?

So to prepare for that inevitable day, I would strongly suggest that any calendaring app writer already make “Monday is the first day of the week” an option. You know it’s what most people think anyway.

Kudos to Google Calendar for getting this right when so few others do (eg the “snooze until” calendar in gmail does not 😒).

This Friday if nothing in contrary happens I put an end on my Associate Degree on Programming studies. It will be my last day in my intern gig, and I'll have to defend my final project later (a wacky Laravel API, why not). So I'm officially looking for a job. I've been looking for offers and it looks like it will be... Hard. From Delphi seniors to "juniors" with years of experience and the responsibilities of... A junior with years of experience, AKA a senior. :P Wish me luck! :D
