Det er et slags svar til Tonje Brennas svar til de som påpekte hvor mye digital reklame vi utsetter skole-elevene våre for.

De viktigste punktene:

  • Vi må være bevisst på hvorfor noe er «gratis», og ofte velge det bort.
  • Tiltak 1: Endre alle elevers default nettleser og søkemotor, til noe som tar hensyn til personvern (konkrete forslag i saken).
  • Tiltak 2: Gi tydelige instrukser, og kjøpe nok lisenser, så ingen laster ned dritt.

To me, more interesting than if it's piracy/illegal is if it's ethical/right. And when evaluating something like that, I like to ask myself:

If you need the extra #Security, something like #Signal is absolutely the way to go. But if «good #Privacy and decent security» is sufficient, I recommend #Telegram.

Why?

To me, saying people should avoid Telegram’s default server encryption is a bit like saying someone’s stupid for not wearing a helmet while driving.

I mean, there's no denying wearing a helmet is more secure! But unless you’re a race car driver, wearing "just" a seat belt is probably enough.

In need of some !

I want my front page to simply be the latest blog posts, showing the post up until the "More" (as in read more) block.

The problem, is that if I show the entire post, it doesn't cut at the more block. And I can't set excepts to be longer than 100 words.

I've tried to edit this last bit my editing functions.php, and by installing the «Advanced Except" plugin.

Any advice? Boost appreciated as well.

Jeg pusher ny style.css til ftp-serveren, men nettleseren insisterer på å bruke den gamle i cache. Noen som har tips til hvordan jeg kan løse dette?

Hard refresh funker ikke, og ikke "Clear cache" enten via nettleseren eller WP-plugin. Problemet er i både Safari, Firefox, Vivaldi og Arc...

I love the clean look of the timeline without action buttons. However:

  1. Without the drawer, it feels wasteful to have swipe left and tapping do the same thing. I wish I could choose what swipe left does (and be allowed to set two actions).

  2. I wish there was an indication that a post has replies, so I don't have to open posts, just to see that there's no replies.

(Also, what's the deal with having the character count so I can't see it when I'm close to the limit? See images.)

A mockup where I've added some reply icons to some posts.
This post in the composer for iPhone 13 Mini. When I'm at the top, I can see that I've written 1 character too much.
But when I scroll down, I can only see that the Post button is grayed out - but I can't see how far over I am.

I think I just set a new personal record in Nerd!

On my numpad, I've made a second layer that mostly write code.

So for instance, if I hold the modifier + the divide symbol, I create a fraction in LaTeX. The keyboard writes:

\dfrac{}{}

(And presses left three times, so I write within the first bracket - the number that goes on top of the fraction.)

modifier + the multiplication symbol writes \cdot , which is the dot symbol.

Etter spillejobb var vi i seng 03:00 i natt, og 05:30 (!) blei vi henta for å kjøre til flyplassen i Honningsvåg.

Men det skulle vise seg at en gjeng tyske fiske-turister hadde mæksa bagasjekvota si alle sammen. Så av oss ni som skulle på flyet, var det kun plass til fire.

Is there a way/app to change it so it only brings forward the last used window?

When I updated Ivory on the Mac today, I noticed a change from earlier: «You can now set your own custom app icon via the finder and running the app won't overwrite it."

This refers to the method via "Get info", right?
My question is: Do you have your icons available for download somewhere?

I'd love to set the Cosmic icon more permanently - as it's clearly the best and should be your default. 😛

I'm loosing my mind, trying to get backdrop-filter: blur() to work properly in Chromium browsers...

Now I've gotten as far as creating a pseudo element ::before my menu and blurring that (as everything else is transparent). But when I do the same for my submenu, it doesn't blur!

Works perfectly in Safari and Firefox... (But it worked there without the pseudo thing as well.)

I don’t know who's fault it is, but in macOS, I can't drag and drop a photo from Photomator into Ulysses. 🙁

Dragging from Photos.app to Ulysses works (but I don't like doing that, as it changes pngs to jpg).
And dragging from Photomator to, say, Pages also works!

What gives? 🤷🏻‍♂️

(When I try to do it, it just doesn't show the green + in Ulysses, like it does from Photos.)
