The about page explains it’s female, non-binary (and ALL that encompasses), and trans.

It explains why no dudes.

And yet. If a week goes by when someone doesn’t tell us we’re missing some dudes, I wonder if the site is down.

Also man this person had to work to find the wrong contact form… we have one ON EVERY SHOW/ACTOR/CHARACTER PAGE! It says “suggest an edit to this page”!

They tried to walk it back, but I’m doing my best, raising the bat signal with queer fans. The most vulnerable content is minorities. The studios will NEVER put money into making content about us, it’s all the writers and producers, and we know it.

As everyone is learning now, doing both the admin work of onboarding AND keeping up with reviews is hard. Doing it as a single human was nigh impossible. The lessons learned from previous, failed, onboardings are being tackled and improved, so it does just take a bit longer.

Also the rumour I am, in fact, a robot are not true. Boop beep.

@thomasfuchs @mlanger @gglockner So. Yes, it can be done, but it will FOREVER be “gotten around.” Basically it won’t work perfectly, to the point that most folks don’t bother.

Effectively you want to block scrapers - https://www.wpbeginner.com/beginners-guide/beginners-guide-to-preventing-blog-content-scraping-in-wordpress/ - but the rule of thumb is this.

“If it’s on the internet and readable, it will be scanned and used.”

Even if you make it all images, tech is good at getting words out of that now. If you block good bots, a bad one will take the data and the good ones will find it there 😕

(True story, I was testing a paywall plugin which uses JavaScript and if you set yourself up right, you can read the content because it displays for a nano second before the paywall pops up, meaning it’s in the cache locally now.)
