Yess we're getting native tab groups in ! Really the only feature I regularly missed from Chrome; my tabs become a mess on FF whenever I dive into a new rabbit hole.

If you have eclipse glasses, you can look at the sun today and see that massive sunspot cluster that's causing all these geomagnetic disruptions. It's neat.

You've seen the Sun, but you've never seen the Sun like this. This single frame from a video captured by ESA's Solar Orbiter mission shows how the Sun's lower atmosphere transitions into the much hotter outer corona. You can see fine, hair-like structures made of plasma following magnetic field lines. The video was taken about a third of the distance between the Earth and the Sun.

Happy Birthday ! It was launched April 24, 1990 on the Space Shuttle Discovery.

This year's anniversary image is of the Little Dumbbell Nebula, or M76.

M76 is a planetary nebula, a glowing cloud of gas ejected by a sun-like star at the end of its lifetime. The central bar structure is actually a ring seen edge-on. This was likely sculpted by a binary companion star. Two lobes extend from the bar to the left and right of the ring.

We're visiting the family today for Easter Dinner. My nieces are getting baskets of beans from us. 😋 #Easter #AprilFools #Beans

Inside the plastic bean casings are black beans and garbanzo beans (AKA chickpeas).

I said it several times, but with Ivory's latest announcement, let me repeat it: we (the Mastodon team) are working on implementing Quote Posts. This is a much more complex feature than showing a preview for a link to a post, which is done at the moment by multiple clients.

It is a complex task and we have been working on defining the feature and the protocol-level details for some time. We are moving forward, and there are fewer hard questions to answers, but progress is there.

I think I wholeheartedly agree with the authors views here.

Primarily the whole hate and vitriol directed at the author of BridgyFed is simply unacceptable.

Secondarily, the whole Fediverse has never been opt-in, but always been opt-out, and the moment it became opt-in would be the moment it dies (because what would stop a large server from deciding to only opt in to a handful of other servers? We've seen this happening with email before.)

Two things we keep getting consistently wrong:

1⃣ Vastly overestimating future coal demand

2⃣ Massively underestimating future generation of solar PV
