Utrecht University’s board has promised to “reasses” its ties to the Zionist Entity. We recognise this message for what it is: a tactic to placate the masses, keep us silent while the death toll rises to over 45,000 people in Gaza.
We have stated our demands time and time again. However, the university remains insistent on being complicit to genocide and would rather call the riot police on its own students and staff, rather than stand on the right side of history.
Come and join us in demanding an end to our University’s ties to apartheid and genocide. Bring whatever resources you can, as much food and supplies as possible, and join us in the streets as we take back our university.
🇵🇸 In our thousands, in our millions, we are ALL Palestinians. 🇵🇸'
'For the third time, Utrecht University has chosen to send in riot police against its own students and staff rather than sever ties with an apartheid state.'
According to my information 4 out of 5 student encampments are allowed to stay the night! 🎉 Only Amsterdam was evicted, more about that later. Preview: outside agitators, not Antifa, escalated things. Probably same folks as earlier (nazi hooligans). 💤
Show up in large numbers, the community, students and all staff are welcome to stand against the university's decision to brutalise their own students. No complicity in genocide, and all power to those who resist.
Students and staff all over Utrecht have occupied Utrecht University's library courtyard in respond to the administration's silence and complicity. For over 200 days, the Zionist entity has been committing genocide in Gaza and for the past 76 years, occupying and oppressing Palestine, its lands and its people.
NEVER AGAIN IS NOW.
We call on everyone, students and faculty, neighbours and humans alike, to march to voorstraat entrance of UU and reject normalisation, reject genocide and reject colonialism.
With the looming invasion on Rafah, it is more important than ever to make our voices heard and make the university cut ties with the Zionist entity.
Everyone is welcome to join and we encourage you to bring as many resources as you can and join us in our call.
From the river to the sea, Palestine will be free.
It's fucking crowded! More people coming in. The people in red are the University staff. The four entrances are carefully barricaded. There is a concern that the riot police will come in when it's dark or after midnight. We stay strong! :solidarity: ✊🏻 🍉
In the meantime #fascists march 'legally' through the streets of #Milan in #Meloni's #Italy. Yes, be alarmed! This will be normalized everywhere or we must prevent this from happening. Don't think they won't come for you. Go on the streets and block them! DON'T LET THEM MARCH! :antifa:
"In a letter to Ireland’s Eurovision entrant Bambie Thug over 400 artists note the singer’s statement that “my heart has and always will be with the oppressed”. But, they say, “by participating in Eurovision you will be standing with the oppressor”. Palestinians have asked performers to boycott the contest and the artists are asking the Bambie Thug to stand “on the right side of history.”
The letter adds its voice to the more than 16,500 members of the Irish public who have petitioned RTE’s Director General, Kevin Bakhurst, to withdraw Ireland’s participation, in protest at the EBU’s failure to exclude Israel as it perpetrates genocide in Gaza.
The artists’ letter highlights the importance of global events such as Eurovision to Israel’s propaganda efforts, as a vehicle to ‘artwash’ its genocidal crimes against the Palestinians in Gaza which have killed at least 33,000 people, more than 13,500 of them children. ..."
