@jonossaseuraava that has worked for me. I told them I don't agree with Facebook's data hoarding and that they can contact me via Signal or SMS.

So sieht es aus, wenn ein Auto auf unbeleuchteter Straße (erlaubte 100 km/h) in einen Misthaufen fährt, der dort nachts (!) ohne Markierung deponiert wurde. Mehrere Unfälle, mehrere Verletzte. TV-Interview: "Wir machen so weiter, bis Regierung zurücktritt".

Das sind keine Proteste, Demonstrationen oder Blockaden, das sind lebensgefährliche Anschläge auf Zivilisten zum Durchsetzen politischer Ziele. Wir sollten das hässliche Kind beim Namen nennen: Terrorismus.

Es wäre lustig, wenns nicht so traurig und peinlich wäre… Jedes einzelne mal, wenn ich den Bumms nutzen will, ist das alles auf sehr deutsche Art digitalkaputt.
Statt so ein entitlement einmal und mit dem korrekten Ablaufdatum in die App zu laden, muss man (regelmässig!) ein “preview" "updaten“. Wer sich so einen Kokolores ausdenkt, und das dann auch noch als Selbstverständlichkeit mit betriebsblind kryptischem Text in ein UI giesst, sollte Computerverbot nicht unter 10 Jahren bekommen.

@nblr hier dasselbe, es ist schrecklich. den login in der app via system browser haben sie auch verkackt: bei mir wird das in nem privaten tab geöffnet, die app macht aber zwei round trips über den browser und kommt dann nicht klar, weil man beim zweiten öffnen des browsers dort nicht mehr angemeldet ist.

The @protomaps project and its format looks really promising. You can serve an entire planet of raster or vector map tiles from a single static file by making clever use of HTTP range requests.

@mdione @protomaps I haven't dived deep enough into it yet, maybe there's a way to rewrite just parts of the file?

Anyway, the entire idea is to not require an application and simplify things, so that's not a solution. Most maps don't need an update every hour, so only regenerating it from time to time doesn't seem like a problem in most cases.

Am 9. Januar lud der Bauernverband Finanzminister Christian Lindner ein, auf der Bühne einer Bauern-Demonstration vor dem Brandenburger Tor ein „Statement“ zu geben.

The recently caught RAF terrorist Daniela Klette, who has been searched by authorities for 30 years, had already been identified last year by @Bellingcat's @ColborneMichael using OSINT techniques: He used face detection software that searches public images and found a match on photos from a Berlin capoeira dance club. The results were discussed in a German podcast called "Legion: Most Wanted".

@Bellingcat @ColborneMichael the tool used for this research was probably pimeyes.com or similar.

At least PimEyes had a 2018 photo from MoveGlobal and a 2011 photo from Berlin's Carnival of Cultures, both depicting what looks like Daniela Klette.

German newspaper already tried to contact the author of the Carnival photo.

A new version of MapComplete is out - version 0.40

And it has a huge update: it now shows the number of relevant POI in a region, giving the map a non-empty feel when zooming out - and it loads the data directly.

It is also really cool to discover outliers and isolated hamlets...

This required a big server to calculate all those number; @pietervdvn was very lucky and got one donated which had the required amount of RAM (>80GB) and HDD on board, transported ecologically...

@richlv 👎 don't tag for the easteregg! it should be easy enough to find usages of OSM by closely looking at something you have mapped in detail. There will be subtle differences or too-good-to-be-true similarities with OSM.

Such details may be the outline of complex buildings, the amount and placement of nodes in curves/roundabouts, the existence and length of usually not comprehensively mapped features such as driveways, etc.

You can also check for known map errors or recently fixed errors.

if you ever wondered why people ignore program outputs, try running gdb. what an absolute mess.

alias gdb='gdb -q' is as necessary as using an ad-blocker on the web.

@molly0xfff I would love to contribute but apparently being privacy conscious is not allowed on . I use a VPN and they just block all edits, regardless of me being logged in to an account with a good track record. It doesn't make sense to me. ¯_(ツ)_/¯

Apparently all .tv domains registered through Sarek Oy (sarek.fi; or , which uses them) are currently disabled by the .tv registry (turnon.tv / godaddy). No details are known and domain owners were not notified. This affects a few piracy sites, but also any other unrelated .tv domains, unfortunately including my jomo.tv domain. Piracy related .tv domains using a different registrar are not affected.

It seems like there is an issue with one of sarek's DNS servers (ns2.sarek.fi). That is according to the .fi registry; I can reach it just fine. Perhaps that is the issue?
