This is Arne Sucksdorff, 1917-2001, a pioneer of the further development of nature docus from the 40s, in the tradition that eventually led to Sir David Attenborough films now

In the 30s he studied theatre in Berlin where he recognized the threat of Hitler early

At an NSDAP manifestation they passed near his boarding house, so Arne, a skilled marksman since childhood, grabbed a rifle and took aim with a clear line of fire

But he feared for the fate of the family he lived with and stood down

Continued. I found one of Sucksdorff’s films translated to English on Youtube. It’s quite rudimentary by today’s standards, and ethically questionable 80 years of social development later, but at the time in 1942 it was revolutionary

are there more people diagnosed with now than in the past, as a percentage of the population? Is it possible that there are environmental factors? Specific diseases/infections/allergies/whatever triggering specific immune responses?
