My son got some fancy keycaps for one of his keyboards, and while I like the feel overall, I realized only after trying to use it myself that this compact layout lacks a backtick/tilde key, making it impossible to do a code span in Markdown.
Yeah, I noticed that common gap. There are a few I saw that have no gap, by hinging somehow stepwise around the keys?
Briadly, it seems like a great idea that has yet to be well-executed? But I thought some more knowledgeable keyboard enthusiasts might have found something…
The good news is that the Setapp version of Bartender is still on 5.0.48.
But it's probably a good idea to remove its Screenrecording permissions and block it with Little Snitch until there's more clarity around the situation.
"OpenAI is — according to multiple reports — not only looking to create its own personal computing devices, they’re considering partnering with Jony Ive and LoveFrom to do it. They’re setting themselves up to be frenemies with Apple before the first partnership is even announced."
Google went down this "frenemies" path before Android existed. Interesting take on OpenAI as the new frenemy. I buy it.
@davemark
Well, that’s interesting. I sampled maybe half of the ‘other 40’ and I did not find the music to be very related. Either in style or vibe. I suspect there is a steep ramp somewhere — it probably varies from artist to artist.
I wonder what vectors the algorithm uses — Style? Bps? Artists appearing together? Common artists in libraries?
Remember when OpenAI claimed a founding principle was the ethical development of machine learning technologies? Can’t trust these types even a little bit.
The only thing this ad-gate says is that anything ginned up about Apple is (still) the most reliable generator of clicks and discourse — and fainting couches.
While you wait for the Apple event to start, check out Screens 5.2 by @edovia. It now works with the Vision Pro and adds a handful of other useful features to every version of the app.
I don’t know what the future of iPad should be. But turning it into a laptop isn’t persuasive to me.
If I wanted a laptop, I’d have bought a laptop. The strength of iPad is that it isn’t a laptop.
Does iPadOS let the hardware down? Yes. 💯
But that’s a problem that should be addressed with a genuine solution, not just, oh well, turn it into a Mac… which I would politely suggest is actually a pretty profound failure of imagination.
