Reddit has become a cesspool of shit. Much like SomethingAwful Forums did before it. Thereโs good people still in both, but only in specific niches, whereas the rest of the site can piss off.
Sorry my dude. ๐ซ You deserve better and to know that you are appreciated.
still insane to me that the US is so self absorbed that they literally consider themselves "the government". they just went ahead and decided .gov domains are for the US government while everyone else has to do like .gov.uk (or just puts up with a normal tld). god i hate the US
@lea I mean, when you fund the creation of the concept of it through DARPA, you get to call the shots.
And now IANA classifies .gov is an sTLD, paid for by DHS.
Should also be noted that .gov isn't just the US government in the federal senseโฆ state and local municipal governments in the US can be used for it too (like maryland.gov or cityoffrederickmd.gov); heck even election offices are considered eligible now.
@lea And on top of that, those types of entities in the US that donโt have .gov TLDs are being asked by CISA and the FBI to move to the .gov TLDs instead of the .com, .net, .org, .us, or whatever else some local government agency is using. So get used to seeing more of them in the next few years.
@ncommander Wow. Talk about blast from the past. It's wild that after 14 years since the last client update that the NetBSD stuff still works OOB.
Oh hell, just looked, and the vax version hasn't been touched in 20 years. WOW.
I participated in the RC5-56, RC5-64, RC-72 (a long time ago, when it started), and OGR-28 comps. Maybe I should toss some wasted compute cycles their way. โฅโฟโฅ
I still have my (legitimately owned) MSDN Site License key memorized. Itโs like a part of my life; Iโm likely in the thousands of installs count with that thing by now over the decades.
@gedeonm The Care Bears Movie or Rainbow Brite and the Star Stealer. Those are the earliest ones I can vaguely remember seeing in theaters at least (I was 5).
If it was something else, I have no idea. ^_^ ๐คท๐ปโโ๏ธ
@gedeonm I will say that I do still very well remember the first tramatizing movie I saw in theaters: Transformers: The Movie.
My 6 year old, Transformers-loving self did not do well with the beginning of that film, though I did make it all the way through. I respect it now, but that was trama that still has a nugget sitting back there somewhere.
@sindresorhus Quick Q: Is Pure Paste or Velja tracking parameter removal expected to remove Instagram "isgh" parameters?
I only just noticed that it is making its way to the address bar, but it is being removed by StopTheMadness before the browser executes the URL.
I can submit feedback via your site if it's supposed to, but I wanted to verify if that was a tracking parameter you expected to block in the first place. ^_^
I've been using Dissenter web browser, but sadly it became abandoned/obsolete, so I was forced to use Brave. However I noticed a problem with CDRomTokyo: it gets blank, same problem at the android phone. And I get so many issues at MiniDisc Tokyo too. Why?
Should I use another web browser?
Please recommend me a good web browser for Linux and android so I could use those sites that I like so much.
I don't think it is a negative on anyone who has tried to avoid it but has inevitably gotten it, but it is definitely a Bravo! You rock! thing to be proud of and celebrate that you've taken steps to protect yourself and those around you and have been successful.
My wife and I are the only two in our families and IRL friend groups that haven't gotten it. We're practically hermits compared to the others, but it has meant not getting sick.
@kiwa Fondly ๐. The CRTs in those were amazeballs. Honestly, the speakers were awesome as well. Once they became available for consumers, it was an easy and cheap way to get into a Mac. Sure, it wasn't fancy like the iMac G4, but they were still really, really nice.
No one in the DC area wanted to work on them, but our ARS always would.
@puniko If there was an option of "I've been waiting 18 months on multiple wait lists to begin trying to get a diagnosis", I would've gone that route. Heh. But it's interesting to see the breakdown.
When/If I get one, I would've been in the 30+ (43) bracket (though suspected since I was 7 by teachers and others). ยฏ_(ใ)_/ยฏ
Holy gosh Iโm late to my #fediverse anniversary!
I originally started on #Mastodon.art but then migrated to here. Glad I made the move here as Iโve met a lot of nice people, especially @breadbin, @smallsco and many others!
I was fully in my post-Windows, SuSE 7.x full-time phase (before moving to Mac OS X in the mid-00s), and a buddy of mine was into Lindows/Linspire and Xandros.
It was surprisingly good for the time, all things considered. Other things werenโt really ready, but the concepts were in the right place.
