@kylewritescode I'm glad I thought my husband better.... Now whenever something happens he just brings me his device and I'm like, yup that's a scam. Report it and block OR should I click on this, and I'm like NOOOO report PHISHING.
Let’s start our day or take a break (depending on where you are) for our #KoffeeWithKyle to discuss the agenda for/what we did today.
For me, I just have the normal work stuff. I have to finish the patching the BIOS on this old ThinkPad since I messed up the process yesterday. Then it’s just relaxing this evening.
I want to thank the @mammoth team for allowing me to work closing with them to bring the #Mammoth community the new /cybersecurity Smart list. It was a blast and I hope everyone enjoys and finds it resourceful.
@kylewritescode It's not the color of the bubble, it's the principle that SMS is absolute garbage and there's no good reason for it to be the default communication protocol other than vendor lock-in with iMessage.
Now, should people just be using other platforms like Signal anyway? Yeah, probably, but there's actually just no valid argument against "more consumer options for interoperable, secure, high-quality communication services."
Just my two cents, I've been using iMessage on Android for over a year now and have a pretty good ear in that community
@bean Yeah I get the premise and that SMS is just plain crappy from a privacy standpoint. For Apple to even fallback to it when iMessage fails is crazy given their stance on Privacy.
Apps like Signal, Whatspp (maybe not them given the Meta ownership now) are definitely ones that should be looked I totally agree, but people just gravitate to mainstream apps.
@kylewritescode I haven't submitted mine yet, but was going to later today. I'm curious if I should go ahead and do that with things being paused and afraid it might get lost along the way, or if I should go ahead and submit mine and hope for the best.
Let’s kick off our day with our #KoffeeWithKyle chat to see what’s on everyone’s agenda for today.
I just got to the office so I’ll be checking to see what all happened over the night with our Managed Services clients. Then it’s just the regular work stuff. Have a certification class today and tomorrow at 10.
After work it’s just relaxing and catching up on shows.
@kylewritescode Well, I usually kick off my day with some strong black tea for breakfast. East Frisian blend, imported from Germany. Almost counts as coffee, certainly as far as caffeine goes.
