Success. I got my two boards to communicate with each other using . The logic analyzer was able to pick up the data from the wire. Thanks, @kentindell for an awesome framework. Next up: hooking everything up to a Toyota Camry.

Work/Career Update!

As many of you know, I have worked for @novalauncher for 8 1/2 years. When I was hired, I was done so as a contractor and remained a contractor the entire time. Then two years ago, Branch Metrics acquired Nova and while I made the transition over, I was still a contractor due to Branch not having things setup to hire full time employees in the state of North Carolina. So for the entirety of my Nova Launcher career, I've been a contractor. (cont...)

Good morning and happy Monday

It's an early start to the day due to excitement on my behalf, so let's all discuss what the first day of the week has in store for us as well as the week ahead.

For me, it's some work stuff(more in a post coming up shortly), followed by more work stuff.

Video games tonight with family friends like we do each Monday and then just relaxing and enjoying the evening!

@cliffwade I'll be playing around with all the goodies I ordered toward the end of the semester. Got myself a couple of boards made by @kentindell as well as the logic analyzer he recommended and will try to get some CAN bus messages across those devices. And I guess I'll start designing next semester's new classes on embedded applications (which will include CAN) and signals and systems. All in all, it will be a fun day, I think.

Three good things today:

  1. Wrapped up my classes.
  2. Lunch with my daughter, followed by a writing session to help her overcome writer's block.
  3. Finally got around to throw all our glasses into the ultrasonic cleaner. Eyesight restored!

@jwildeboer While I do prefer Beamer, it's nice to know something like this exists. Probably a good suggestion for students who don't want to face the LaTeX learning curve.

@cliffwade Good morning Cliff! The whole family is on their way to Atlanta for SoutheastCon. 6 hours on the bus, not too bad. Taking about 30 students with us for the various competitions. I’ll be judging on the software competition. Should be fun, seeing old friends.
