@gonzohistory had a great idea in one of his last few podcase episodes: a game of Lexicon where the players create a fantasy bestiary as a handout for players.
That sounds like something I might want to try. You could integrate this with a game of #dnd or so, where players get some extra xp or something for bestiary entries.
here's an idea I had for a #shadowrun campaign a while ago: use an actual #bbs as a job board/contact/forum for runners between runs.
the idea would be that they have to login to a specific address on a machine to get infos about their runs.
should be doable with a very basic setup of e.g. synchronet
"Just use Linux" is much like "just ride a bike" or "just shop at a refill store" - accessing the non default option can be time consuming, expensive or unavailable locally. We need to recognise you need a certain degree of privilege to have the capacity to complicate your life voluntarily. We need to be trying to make the better, harder thing more accessible, not blaming people for not using it.
@afewbugs yeah, I like to use Linux. But I am working in an enterprise environment, when my company says all the computers have to have windows installed then "just use Linux" is not gonna magically make it appear on my device.
@evacide I find it interesting that I have been reading about this on multiple pages, and there was literally no single comment (or article) that thought this "feature" was a good idea.
What sort of plank managed to get this through internal approval at MS?
