@smallcircles@janvlug I had a federated job search site on my backlog to look into. But I think platforms should be able to federate such content quite easily when the right type definition is created? Same then applies to resumes, I'd assume.
@smallcircles sustainable has so many sides to the story. From financial to emotional. It's easy to see one side and forget about the other. Though Foss is making progress on the former, the latter is massively ignored.
It's a supplemental tool to Awesome-Selfhosted and meant to be an alternate view focused on details that I personally find more relevant. And more importantly - it'll always be up-to-date as it's built on the dataset I use to monitor updates and releases for This Week in Self-hosted.
How does this work.. The FEP-f1d5 talks about a node info endpoint, but the FEP states no obligatory endpoint. References lead to an old library that recommends /.well-known/x-nodeinfo2 (for that v2 library). How did a FEP become final without this crucial piece of information or am I simply missing that information in the finalised FEP? #ActivityPub#Fediverse
@maxim hey Max. I know this is out of the blue. As an experienced game developer learning the ropes on the latest Unreal engine, what advice can you give someone with development experience trying to get into game, and specifically Unreal engine, development? I have been trying to understand the basics but seem to easily lose sight of how things are done. Any resources that really helped you get into it for instance?
Thanks for reading and an answer would be highly appreciated ๐
Just had an amazing call with @devnull of #nodebb on behalf of #flarum. His progress on their #federation implementation is already quite impressive. We've decided to keep in touch, share and collaborate on supported FEPs and regularly touch ground in the future.
@devnull ๐ thanks again for your time Julian, I loved getting to know more about you and nodebb. Certainly hoping that nodebb and flarum interoperability will be possible soon through federation.
@davidbisset I found a little gem on my timeline today David. Thank you. One concern I have is that intervention requires either GD or Imagick. Other than that, great job!
@devnull@leroy@nodebb@multiverseofbadness we have not started the work on the fediverse implementation yet, but it will happen, it will happen in version 2 of Flarum and an implementation will probably be available this year.
@devnull@leroy@nodebb@multiverseofbadness collaboration for compatibility would make a lot of sense actually. I would love to hear about your approach and lean in to establish some kind of standard between us.
For #ActivityPub the question of "Why use #LinkedData?" has never been answered. There should be clear merits to wade through all the complexity that this choice brings, right?
Yes, its ultra flexible, and you can define your own semantic #ontologies, and theoretically it could provide a robust extension mechanism to AP protocol. Except that right now it doesn't.
What's the vision of a Linked Data #Fediverse? What great innovative #SocialNetworking#UX would it bring, that makes it worthwhile?
@smallcircles@steve@evan no one is taking ownership of a grey area that needs a massive amount of work to make less grey. I wish there would be a team, regardless of their official status, that would work on standards for the fediverse without it being mastodon or otherwise prioritizing own interest over standards.
Me, php senior developer and passionate open source maintainer, is hoping for a new #job for 2024. Anything preferably remote (located in CEST), working with #php / #Laravel, one specific product, regardless of stack complexity, up to 32 hours/week so I have time left to manage #flarum.
