@madelena i just thought of something with the new areas and floors structure. What about a way to designate exterior or outside things separate of the floors?

I guess leaving my outdoor areas unassigned works. But just wanted to toss that idea out there in case you see a better way of designating areas as esother interior or exterior since I have one for my deck, one for my shed, and one for my pool.

Started to play with Sections in Home Assistant and I love it. Thanks to @madelena and the team at @homeassistant for this release. Some examples. Please read the alt text. The MacBook Air version would still have room for a 4th column, but it seems I am limited to three. Hopefully that can change or I am wrong.

I believe this is just the start. I can't wait for the next released. I have always found dashboard very frustrating.

One of the most astonishing feats of #SamAltman is that he managed to turn a company that was seen as ethical innovators with a great tech breakthrough into a minion of oligarchs destroying humanity, hated by almost everyone except tech bros and shareholders in just one year. That's ineptitude.

I despise the fact that #OpenAI isn't #opensource nor transparent, and is using the word "Open" in a way that dilutes and desecrates its meaning.

I hope they lose hard. 😛

In #RickAndMorty S7E9, Rick's party fought the Pope, like, a dozen times and died.

It reminded me of when I tried to fight that Mecha-Pope for the n-th time in #finalfantasy13, I also yelled "POPE!!!!" every time I stormed in from the save point.

Coincidentally, Lightning was always a representation of Odin.

@madelena can you please look into this? your lovely skin is buggy in HA 2023.9 - when a popup like the More info view is open, scrolling moves the underlying layer, not the popup content itself. Default skin and Noctis do not do this. Resetting Front-end cache doesn't fix it.

QR codes.

Great technology with surprising applications. It's just that every marketer in 2010 thought it was cool to replace URLs with QR codes, making ads more annoying and people look like complete morons in one fell swoop.

I don't understand microblogs tbh.

When I was young, I was told that one shouldn't make a statement without any supporting evidences or proofs. Yet, on the internet, everyone just seems to express their opinions out of their asses based on anecdotes and no research whatsoever. Experts in one area often seem to think that they are automatically experts in other areas simply because they have followers.

Therefore, my go-to response is, "citation needed".

I've installed #Windows11 on my #SurfaceHub2S, aka my largest Magic Doodle.

I find Windows 11 to be predatory in terms of bombarding me with "suggestions" that are more about increasing their conversion rate than a pleasant user experience.

It was only after a lot of tinkering it has become somewhat usable. I had to replace the useless start menu with Start11, annihilate the Widgets panel through group policy, and add touch gestures with GestureSign.

#SwitchBot S10 can automatically refill its water tank for mopping, and it also does triple duty as a water transport that can carry water to a humidifier or from a dehumidifier, as well as an autonomous battery charger for other battery powered devices??! 🤯

It's only a matter of time these things have a cup holder to deliver me food and water. 😅

People don't want screens around their house because most of them are used to get attention from us for showing us advertisements.

The trust between users and the UX is broken because they cannot expect good intentions from a glowing object that's essentially living rent free in their apartment and also their head.

What we need are less predatory and more honest and transparent technology that rebuilds our trust.
