I am seeing a lot of hubbub over a third case of in a human in the US.

Just to be clear: Right now, in our "lowest" point of in almost a year, 278 Americans are being infected EVERY MINUTE. Ten percent or more will go on to suffer months or years of Long COVID symptoms. Some will have damaged brains, hearts, and other organs.

We shouldn't lose focus on the immediate and real risks we face of COVID.

@augieray Saw someone point out that not everyone they know who had COVID had a severe illness afterwards that needed a trip to the hospital, but everyone they know who had a severe illness that put them in the hospital had COVID beforehand.

Read an article recently that claimed autistic individuals are less likely to succumb to marketing and impulse buying. I think this is true about myself.

I am aware that AuDHD can often work against this, and make shopping a dreadful experience because of the push and pull of "wanting" but not "needing" something. I'd love to hear y'all's experiences/opinions.

@chevalier26 @actuallyautistic if I notice your ad is an ad, I hate you, if you tried to target it at me, I swear vendetta* against you, loud jarring bullshit, I'm willing to look up who to resort your ad to, BUT if you make me laugh like zocdoc or actually want to click your contextual ads like Pinterest, fine, I guess.

*Should I find myself in the market I actively seek your competitors, if none exist I make it myself if possible, I also actively proselytize against your product

Is there any recourse -- besides bolt cutters -- to these scooter companies coming by in their truck and locking their commercial product to every slot in every bike rack so that nobody with a bike can use the rack at all?

Is there anyone at the city who will do something about these assholes?

@cliffwade @Vivaldi built in ad blocker on the phone and full dark mode everywhere because I do not care what color you want your page to be, I know best how I want to see it.
