Been trying to figure out how to phrase the next era of my / studio

If it's my partner and I making games, but she's a very silent artist partner and wants zero exposure, do I just roll the "single creator" angle?

It feels weird, but also a lot of single creator games sure have lots of contractors so shrug?

Like if I say "couple", EVERYONE gonna zero in on that. The angle they'll want is couple interviews. And, well. No.

In response to this post I wrote this morning, I keep seeing folks saying, “just switch to DuckDuckGo!”

DuckDuckGo is not a 1:1 solve. There is too much important information buried specifically in Google that it does not have direct access to, including:

  • 400+ years of book scans, including of copyrighted material not available elsewhere
  • The largest easily accessible history of Usenet
  • The easiest-to-use archive of patent filings
  • A number of newspaper scans not available elsewhere

@ernie Jesus, you're right. I never thought about Google being the last remaining public archive of Usenet. That might actually be solvable, thanks to the many Usenet providers still out there.

@SallyStrange yep! it's so strange but i learned how to do it from an episode of Psych, lol.

one of the main characters was raised by his father to list every thing he sees in a room, then repeat the things after they leave. i started doing that because i am an insufferable nerd, and it started to improve my photographic memory.

after 10 years of this i'm at a point where my wife makes fun of me for being able to recall menus and books after glancing at them, lol.

Is it worth it to get one of those HDMI capture devices, like a Genki Shadowcast? I was reading somewhere that you could use one to essentially make any tablet an additional monitor for any OS.

Y'know, growing up, I observed a weird phenomenon in my life. After about a year of knowing a new circle of friends, I would get kicked out or excluded from that space. I had always understood it as, that's about as long as I can pretend to be a normal person before I accidentally show one of my more unusual or annoying traits.

Now, has given me the tools to understand that these are the moments I would let my masking guard down. When people sense I'm ND, they split.

Consider: Christianity and Islam both share a perception of inevitablity to the end of the world. The idea is that, we cannot know the day, and we cannot know the hour, but the return of God, and the judgement of Humans is perpetually neigh.

I wonder if this feeds into folks' indulgence in stuff like prepping, or fatalism over climate change. So many of us seem to WANT the world to end, simply because we believe it HAS to end.

What if we redid that? What if we saw this as something to save?
