Breville makes such nice small appliances that I really wish they made a full size induction range

nesevis,
@nesevis@hachyderm.io avatar

@christianselig I’m pining for 2x Control Freaks rather than an induction range. I rarely have more than two burners going at the same time.

nesevis,

@christianselig I’d probably pack them away when I want things to look nice.

@christianselig I vaguely remember reading something to the effect that they were working on it. But it’s been years.

    The Kuma Academy trains Taiwanese civilians to understand modern warfare, first aid and evacuation planning.

    The classes sell out within hours.

    The idea is to increase resilience – to be more like Ukraine, its founder Shen told me, so that if an invasion or blockade by China happened, they’d have the skills to resist.

    @orionkidder @selzero Fart here means “speed”, but Norwegian is Germanic, so there’s lots of overlap elsewhere in the languages.

    It's sort of a funny thought experiment, but what would the world look like with the modern internet but without medicine? Infant mortality rate ~50%, life expectancy ~20-30 years (maybe less, due to density helping disease spread), people mysteriously dying from infections all the time, etc.

    I suppose inequality due to wealth would be reduced because rich people would suffer from all of the same causes of death since this presupposes that no one knows how to treat or prevent any illness.

    nesevis,
    @nesevis@hachyderm.io avatar

    @danluu I would be dead without penicillin, so it’s an easy choice.
