The US enacted the eugenics-inspired Immigration Act of 1924, which completely prohibited immigration from Asia. Designed to limit all immigration to the US, the act was particularly restrictive for Eastern and Southern Europeans and Asians. Upon signing the act into law, President Coolidge remarked, “America must remain American.”

    I remember a guy in Lagos who had a daughter who was disabled.

    His family pretty much ignored her.

    He was an immensely wealthy polygamist, and the entire family behaved as though she just wasn't there.

    Back then, in most sub-Saharan societies, deformities were treated as curses, and oftentimes left to fend for themselves as street beggars.

    Even to this day, albinos are ill treated.

    I was triggered at first as well, but after giving it more thought, I agree with Redmond.

    rightfully CANNOT blur or encrypt your passwords because doing so would require that Microsoft be a content moderator, returning your data to their Seattle mothership in order to do so.

    That is a level of surveillance no one should be comfortable with.

    Then again, you have given 20 years access to your email inbox, so...
