@linos @castopod that's why I ask! since some versions, the plugin already federates audio, but we only support blocks for now. So I am interested in bridging also the podcast plugins.

@linos @castopod but what I see so far, is that there is not really a generic way to publish podcasts, used by the common plugins.

@pfefferle @Gargron tl;dr Mastodon basically DDOSed my WordPress instances. ~30k in exactly 30 minutes, then back to baseline ~0.

Between 18:28-18:58, it looks like every Mastodon instance decided to request the posts which were federated WP+AP months ago.

Any idea why?

We released version 2.3.0 of the plugin for .

Some new features:

  • Support for alt-attributes
  • Prioritize attachments based on the post format (article => all, audio => audio, video => video, ...)
  • Improve JS widgets
  • A better default content handling based on the Object Type
  • You can now add/remove the capability to use ActivityPub for each User

@cybeardjm @atomicpoet no, it is on the users admin page (wp-admin/users.php). Select the users you enable or disable for ActivityPub, select the action you want in the dropdown and press submit.

Joe, to wordpress

Anyone use the ActivityPub plug-in on their Wordpress site?

I'm having problems with the plugin on mine. It only partially works.

You can discover the site profile through mastondon/etc. and send a follow request, but that's it. The follow requests/approvals don't ever go through. It just hangs indefinitely.

The site is a newly installed/bluehost hosted site using the Cue theme.

I've also added the webfinger and nodeinfo plugins as well just to see if that would make a difference, but no dice.

Any ideas?

@dan @Joe since Automattic is owning/funding the plugin now, it is no longer a handled as a hobby/spare-time project and we constantly improve the Automattic infrastructure to play nicely with the plugin. So if you have some recent issues, please let us know!
