This is one of my long-time interests. Ever since people started walking around with bluetooth devices, I assumed it would be a target for analysis. (Not many years later, it and wifi became a popular target for analyzing behavior of customers in retail stores)

Another fun one is TPMS sensors (though now that APLR is common, it's probably pointless).

But simple HUMINT/FININT works amazingly if you're positioned to collect it

I have a whopping two contacts in my log from CQ-WW WPX SSB. I shall dutifully submit them, but have no high expectations that I'll win anything, except if they add a category for QSO with worst SWR (17).

@ai6yr It was a QSO on 80 with an antenna made for 40. But it was a friend two towns over, and I sent as much power in as I could. Of course such madness is only possible with a self built PA of which I know how much voltage margin the transistors can handle.

@mcnees My reaction to these stability calculations went the opposite way, as a reason for pessimism: if there were a considerable TeV scale modification to the SM, our position at the metastability bound of the higgs self coupling would be pure coincidence and meaningless. Only if there is no serious modification to the SM below the GUT scale can I think of reasons why we would be near metastability, either anthropic, from symmetry as in our 2012 papers, or from RG like Wetterich/Shaposhnikov

Finde ich gut. Ich verwende meinen Doktortitel im Alltagsleben praktisch nie. Er steht bei mir auch nicht auf dem Briefkasten oder an der Klingel. Selbst im Berufsleben spielt er kaum eine Rolle, da die meisten Kolleginnen & Kollegen selber einen haben.

Wer eine nur wegen des Titels macht, ist sowieso ein armer Wicht. 🎓
