“It was a failed Hamas rocket attack, no, wait, it was us, but it was a precision-strike led by intelligence, targeting two senior Hamas figures in a sea of tents where 100,000 human shields were taking refuge because we ordered them to go there. How were we supposed to know there would be so many casualties?"
But it's not all about abolishing things, Labour will continue:
Trident
Rape clause
Genocide
Tory austerity
Supporting big business
NHS pivatisation
Unfair tax burden
Grant new oil and gas licences in the North Sea
Keep the Lords
Keep unfair benefit system
Starving kids at lunchtime
In this election you must vote for the party who are best for the majority in Scotland and that is certainly not the Tories or the other Tory party, Labour!
@russellt Mate, we'll be no better than Northern England, national identity, gone in sixty seconds. So much for the rights of a sovereign nation to self determination.
@Roadwarrior29@russellt
This is the tack both the Tories and Blue Labour are taking - if Scotland is simply just a region of the UK, it has no need of special anything, it can get in line.
Hence Starmer enforcing a Westminster driven policy on the Optional Identitarians etc. Not sure how much the suspension of Stormont plays into this as a model to deal with unruly assemblies. And if the "extremism" tag is the beginning of legally shutting down certain avenues of protest, like with the climate activists in Germany.
THE LibDem candidate in a key target seat donated £25,000 to the Conservatives under the leadership of Boris Johnson, The National can reveal.
Businessman Angus MacDonald hopes to rekindle the LibDem vote in their former Highland heartlands by taking the new Inverness, Skye and West Ross-shire seat from the SNP.
But questions about his commitment to his new party’s stated pro-EU stance have arisen after The National revealed his previous support for the Tories in the run up to the 2019 election.
Remind any of your friends considering voting Labour in Scotland ...
"LABOUR MPS HAVE ACCEPTED OVER £280,000 FROM ISRAEL LOBBY
Twenty percent of Labour’s sitting MPs have been funded by pro-Israel groups or individuals – including 15 who have been directly funded by the Israeli state."
What is the Israeli State getting in return? Isn't it an MPs job to represent their constituents?
@russellt When Scotland voted Labour we were called the sick man of Europe and 1 in 5 of the Scottish people lived in poverty. We voted Labour for 14 General elections and for 56 years in a row. Don't go back to Labour. They absolutely do not deserve another chance.
Netanyahu and Biden governments in meltdown again as three countries bypass US veto and declare Palestine a state
The US and Israeli governments have reacted with fury to announcements by three European governments, at the same time, that they are recognising Palestinian statehood. Ireland, Norway and Spain have all now formally declared Palestine to be a state.
@russellt we’ve been watching real time over these last months not only the destruction of Gaza and genocidal acts, but the erosion and loss of influence and credibility of the USA on the global stage. Biden & Blinken have been PR disasters for the USA and their unconditional support and enabling genocide leaves them with no credibility. Not only are they getting the finger from Netanyahu, but the ICC and some major European allies.
Mandela’s grandson calls Lammy ‘apologist for genocide’
Shadow Foreign Secretary blasted after claiming anti-apartheid hero would have condemned student pro-Gaza campus protests, as Mandela’s grandson calls for students worldwide to join protests.
SNP lurches to the right with Swinney and Forbes combo. Sad day for progressive policies. Leaves the door open for The British Labour Party in Scotland.
Boycotting Israeli products and services is only part of the campaign against the genocide of Palestinians. We need to tell those companies why we have boycotted their company. We need them to feel the burn and know where it came from and importantly, how they can stop it!
Electoral expert says Labour overall has gone backward, despite Starmeroid spin
Keir Starmer and his spokespeople are spinning like crazy that today's local election results are a sign of how well the public is receiving Starmer's policy blancmange of nothingness (well, maybe they're not using quite that terminology), while they point to a few areas where Labour had good results - such as in the Blackpool South by-election.
