scytale,

My employer puts out yearly employee surveys and without fail, one of the top questions is always why pay is not keeping up with inflation.

scytale,

A spokeswoman for Intuit, Tania Mercado, criticized the direct file project as a “half-baked solution” and a waste of taxpayer money. “The direct file scheme is a solution in search of a problem,”

That’s rich coming from a company that created a problem so they can sell their solution.

Either way, there are better software than Intuit, like FreeTaxUSA.

scytale,

Even just removing dynamic pricing, prohibiting ticket resales from going above original price, and removing extra fees (for upgrades and resales) will solve most of the issues.

scytale,

He should re-brand as a “consultant” and charge double that.

scytale,

Lmao and the guy still won. What a world.

scytale,

Good news for 2023 Honda HRV owners, because the rear glass shatters spontaneously on its own.

scytale,

The first step to improve the system is to fire DeJoy.

scytale,

There’s another one beside it. I saw someone post it somewhere else but I don’t remember. I think it was Vegeta saying “I committed tax fraud” or something like that.

scytale,

Ohh. So 54% effective against getting infected in the first place? That sounds pretty good indeed.

The new home I purchased has a gas stove. Instead of replacing it, we’re planning to just buy a portable (pluggable) 1-plate induction cooktop as our primary cooking station, and use the gas stove for prolonged cooking like boiling rice/pasta or pressure cooking. It shouldn’t be an issue to plug the induction cooktp into one of the outlets in the kitchen right?

For people who have psoriasis/eczema/bad skin, how did you get rid of your dandruff?

I’ve been dealing with dandruff since I was a kid, it’s always made me really insecure and always wear a hat. I’ve tried plenty of different hair products, none seem to work. It’s not just my hair on my scalp, it’s my beard as well. I’m a 19 year old male (Caucasian), I’ve been already deciding if I want to go bald...

scytale,

Anti dandruff shampoo with selenium sulfide as the active ingredient. You can start with the medicated versions like the other comment mentioned because it has the strongest formula. Once you have it under control, you can switch to a milder version. I started with medicated Selsun Blue. After about 2 weeks, my dandruff was gone. Then I switched to the milder version with conditioner and that’s what I use to maintain it. You can also lather a little bit on your beard and eyebrows while shampooing. It helps too.

scytale,

It’s owned by EFF, which AFAIK is still a trusted org. You might be thinking of Adblock Plus or Ghostery.

scytale,

I don’t think people are saying the leaks he released are invalid. What they are saying is that him being selective with what he releases is the problem. If it doesn’t align with his political views for example.

scytale,

Read the 2, 3, and 4 star reviews and skip the 1 and 5 stars. The reviews with more nuance tend to have better information to help decide.

In Private Remarks to Arab Americans, Biden Aide Expresses Regrets on Gaza (www.nytimes.com)

In a closed-door meeting with Arab American leaders in Michigan this week, one of President Biden’s top foreign policy aides acknowledged mistakes in the administration’s response to the war in Gaza, saying he did not have “any confidence” that Israel’s government was willing to take “meaningful steps” toward...

scytale,

People should remember that it’s not what they say, but what they do.

scytale,

It was a fun movie to turn your brain off to. I personally enjoyed it as a brain-less action film, and I liked how they interpreted the game mechanics into real world action.

scytale,

…or maybe it just wasn’t that good? I’m not passing judgement myself and I’ll wait to see it before I give my opinion. But even though the industry is infested with paid reviews, when there’s smoke there’s fire.

scytale,

Not exactly, but pretty close, at least for me. 6 years ago, I nonchalantly asked my boss if I can relocate to another country. He’s pretty cool so he was like, sure. The hard part was getting his boss, and his boss’ boss to say yes, because it takes money and a lot of other resources to move an employee from a low-cost country to a high-cost country. By some miracle, everyone said yes. It was so fast that when the director talked to me, he asked me where I wanted to go (global company with offices all over the world), and I answered “I don’t know, I didn’t think I’d get this far”.

Fast forward to today and I now have permanent residency. Sometimes when I’m just chilling, it hits me and I still can’t believe I’m here now, with what started as a random throwaway question.

scytale,

Both! This was pre-zoom time so I was talking with the director over a webex call without video, and I remember I was doing the excited jazz hands motion by myself in a conference room. I only felt the nerves when the wheels actually started turning and the actual process started, which was a couple of months later, because that’s when I knew for sure it was actually happening. I just told myself this is a once in a lifetime opportunity and I would be stupid to not take it even if I was uncertain of what will happen. Besides, if it doesn’t work out, I can always go back home.

scytale,

Because political dynasties are like royalty, where what matters is keeping power within the family, not the skill or qualifications of a person to lead. When there is a dynasty, corruption is not far behind. These people inherit power as if they deserve it, and they are brought up by their politician parents to become politicians, not servants of the people. The goal is to continue holding power, not working for the people.

scytale,

Nuggets were completely exhausted in the second half. Can’t blame Jokic, the Wolves were really built to counter them. They had the personnel to keep 2 big men guarding Jokic at any given time throughout the entire game. I can imagine how exhausting it is to fight through those double teams.

Murray cost them 4 precious points near the end of the game with those turnovers bringing up the ball. MPJ never showed up this series. At least Gordon had some great games.

Naz Reid was the X factor. Jokic could manage vs Gobert and KAT, but having Reid in there too really tipped the scales to the Wolves’ favor.

scytale,

As long as it’s treated as an investment rather than an actual currency, it will never be taken seriously by the general public and will never become mainstream. It’s also too volatile without regulation, so people will naturally be apprehensive with their money being at risk of completely losing value any time.

scytale,

One possibility: Are you on the same network (i.e. wifi) without a vpn? If yes, then both of you have the same public IP, so it’s trivial to figure out you’re likely in the same household.
