Pretty wild that Bethesda was like "NAH, you don't need to adjust any graphical settings for on Steam Deck."

(Tip: you can add "SteamDeck=0 %command%" to the launch settings to reinstate the launcher that has said graphics settings, but still. HUGE foul on the play.)

If you're on #ArchLinux or a derivative like #EndeavourOS and #Manjaro, Install "pkgstats" right now!

It helps the Arch maintainers get a better view of the install base which in turn helps them know where to spend their time and effort. Get your votes in!

If nothing else, you get a really cool look at what other Arch users are using most.

@linuxuserspace @bittin @Strit pkgstats was installed by default on Endeavour, last I checked! Worth noting that pkgstats is technically not an Arch project per se, but it is run by a staff member.

For the past several weeks I've been debating switching to a dumb phone / flip phone (maybe a Light Phone?), but addiction clearly isn’t the issue. What I’m sure of is this: I’m definitely done giving T-Mobile $55/month for something I barely use.

Anyone have good experiences with Mint Mobile in the US? (I do realize T-Mobile recently purchased them…)

@killyourfm I've been on it for a few months now. Switched from AT&T. Haven't noticed much of a difference in coverage other than actually seeing my phone use 5G—never saw it under AT&T, now it's almost always in use. I always buy my phones unlocked anyway, so the lack of "free" phones that I would have gotten under one of the bigger names isn't an issue. Would recommend.

As of today, I am no longer subscribed to any streaming music platforms. I dropped Spotify last year, and today I dropped Tidal.

I have an awesome and growing vinyl collection. I ripped all my CDs and have my entire digital music library on both my iPod and Plex.

I'm content with this decision. In fact I'm EXCITED about it, because I'll be spending more time enjoying and loving the heaps of music I already own.

As for discovery? Recommendations, Bandcamp, and good old fashioned music blogs.

    @frameworkcomputer Are there plans to address the battery draining while plugged in during a high power gaming load? It doesn't seem right to ship a power cable in the box that can't provide enough power for the system's max draw, while also having no in-firmware limiting to the power cable's max capacity.

    Tl;dr: will you be implementing a firmware change to limit the system power draw to 180W when the stock 180W charger is plugged in?

    @engarneering I was born the year Quake III Arena released, so I don't have nostalgia for either. I get the complaints about Quake's visual style being "what if everything was grey and brown", but I love how Quake feels to play compared to DOOM, and I like the weird Lovecraftian themes.

    @keyboardg I can see it looking pretty bad at the time, yeah. I've been playing the Nightdive remaster, and I much prefer it to the original version shipped with Dosbox on Steam—same with DOOM and DOOM II, though iirc those weren't done by Nightdive.

    @heyheymomo If you want a real answer, gifs are image only, no audio. You'd need to export as an MP4 or other video format for audio to carry.

    @aeva Not taking yours gives you a hangover? I just get the opposite of dry mouth. Having had dry mouth from the meds since about 7 years old, it feels unpleasant.

    It fascinates me that is now a more popular platform to play video games on than according to the Steam hardware survey. In 2017, when I had just started my move from the latter to the former, I would never have imagined that Linux would come this far in such a short time. Next year will surely be the Year of the Linux Desktop!

    @gfxstrand I'm really excited about NVK. My main reason for avoiding NVIDIA cards in general has been their driver situation on Linux, and I feel as though the work by you and all the other Nouveau and NVK developers may finally bring NVIDIA cards to the table for me!

    @matrix I understand the decision to shutter the bridge, but I am disappointed. I had been using the official bridge for years now to communicate with the others @archlinux and other channels like . Fortunately, Arch has its own bridge, so I can still use Matrix for that!
