What maniac decided to manage volumes pv, vg and lv should be 80 separate applications? FFS make each of those a single command with switches or verbs for whatever you're trying to accomplish.

phyvol, volgrp, logvol and then whatever action you're trying to do. e.g. logvol create --name --size etc. That's how nearly every other thing on a linux system works. The current situation is fucking obtuse, obscene and absurd.

At least in aeronautics software engineering the assumption is that humans are fallible as so the development process accounts for that systematically and if someone still ends up dying (think 737-MAX) it is the system that is at fault.

Small consolation I suppose.

Report: I’m being sealioned. As in, real actual sea lions are invading the docks at our family's summer cabin. It’s nice that nature is coming back… sometimes. Sea Lions are noisy, smelly, smart, lazy, and defecate disgustingly and in massive quantities.

If my Dad were still living he’d say “Huh, no problem really, just get a rifle, you’ll need a fairly big one.”

I like this observation from @davew: "But as quiet as Bluesky is, it makes Mastodon look even quieter."

What makes it so odd, is that Bluesky has 50k accounts, but Mastodon has gained more than 50k accounts in past two days.

The reason makes itself look busier is simply algorithms. Should have a checkbox: "I consent to give my content to be searchable for algorithms"?

Would it be better or not? It could connect disparate communities in Mastodon.

As a pluviophile living in , I live in constant yearning for rain and thunderstorms and it never comes soon enough. Instead, today's 27.3C just broke a 126 yr temp record, which was 26.7C which was set back in 1897! End this heat please.

Don’t just THINK the compliment. Say it. Then tell their boss.

The one Mastodon feature I would like to see, more than the next 3 or 4 put together, would be: Don’t show me stuff I’ve already seen!

Or at least do it less. If something is getting boosted a lot, maybe a maximum of once a day tell me that it got 38 more boosts, including 11 of my follows. Even better, show it just once only.
