Great point! Sorry, I'm new to Lemmy (but not to the Fediverse) and I see you're using kbin. It's easy to forget that people are not all using the same software — I'm still amazed that I can post to a Lemmy community from Mastodon, and I assume the same is true for kbin.

I had this question because i was explaining Lemmy to my partner, and her favorite subreddit is BestOfRedditorUpdates. So I wondered what would be the name of the equivalent community in Lemmy. 😊

Rodsterlings_cig,

Makes sense. Bike commuting definitely helps me break up the day. At one point i was cycling in the morning and then biking into work, thst wiped me out after a while.

Making friends in adulthood

Is it really harder to find true, meaningful friendships (not romantic and/or sexual) in more 'adult' years or is this an introverts problem? I am quite introverted at first, I would never just start a friendly conversation with a stranger and work friends usually are just work friends. I moved to UK in 2019 and since then I had...

orbit,

Absolutely! Each of these fit really well into the "spirit" of the game. I think Great Empire Wars and More Interactive Vassals are more varied but create a much more dynamic and interesting experience.

/kbin - Sunny June Announcement

Hi everyone, it seems that we have quite a gathering here, and many of you I haven't had the chance to greet yet :) As some of you may know, /kbin is still in its early stages of development. Every day, improvements and new features are being worked on. Unfortunately, this may result in occasional short downtimes. However, the...

Kbin platform logotype

Reddit has permanently suspended my account for supporting Lemmy.

I have been supporting Lemmy recently a lot and made posts about Lemmy that got big reach. Today, sadly the reddit account through which, I moderated a lot of subs and spent time on, comes to an end. The reason was because I spammed according to reddit, but the reality is that they have censored me because I was hurting Reddit....

Kichae,

Jesus.

You know, I'm a year on the fediverse now, and I've watched months and months of pearl clutching over Mastodon defederations as trans-safe instances have blocked servers with admins that host TERFs and other transphobic accounts.

This has been contextualized by many as "thin skinned admins having power trips" by people who have never watched a thin skinned admin have a power trip.

And I thought I'd seen thin skinned admins have power trips before over 15 years on various message boards. Shit, I thought I'd had a couple of power trips on days when my skin's been thin back on IRC.

But that's setting a new standard for me.

@jax kbin crosses both domains. It allows you to follow regular users on Mastodon, Calckey etc, and it also has a nifty aggregation feature that lets you see non threadiverse content by attaching hashtags to a particular community

    dessalines,

    Another thing:

We do need more site admins to help us handle the applications and moderation.

For obvious reasons, we prefer ppl who have been here for a long time, and post / comment consistently. If you'd like to help us out, so that nutomic and I can focus on coding, that would be splendid.

    AbsentApe,

We didn't start the fire. No we didn't light it but we tried to fight it.

It would be nice to eventually have functionality like multireddit where we could individually in our own accounts combine communities from different instances into a single (specific just to our own account) community.

    knighthawk0811,

this would be the best way. having then separate is a fundamental thing of the federation. being able to visually put them together should be on the user level.

there should be a clear notice for which comm your new posts default to. likely the instance you're actually on, but it's possible that you don't even want to join the comm for your own instance
