Although I'm looking forward to more direct trains between Copenhagen and the rest of Europe, the in station is astoundingly good, always worth a stop especially given DSB still only rarely serves food/drinks on their trains.

Big portions, lots of + options, wide range. What's not to like...?

"On the contrary, the otherwise stable Netherlands has been thrown off balance. Huge protests, burning bales of straw, political divisions, intense polarisation between rural and urban areas.

And for what? To save an that may be technologically world-leading, but no longer means more to the economy than 1.4 per cent of GDP."

Insanely well written (in Danish 🇩🇰 ), interesting article on (or not) of Dutch agriculture in @informeren

Southern Norway and Denmark are having a miserable summer, but northern Norway just set several new high temperature records and had a tropical night. (Min temperature was above 20C).

Was contacted today by journalist who asked about what I personally do to reduce my emissions. It must be said, I sometimes feel a little dumb when I see the kind of post that @Sustainable2050 highlights here.

(And, the answer was: I do what I can, but it's not enough and we should try to see our personal emissions through the lens of society's choices and what we can do about those...)

I agree with a lot in this brilliant piece by @kissane on +
"If we want more people to enjoy what we believe are the benefits of something like Mastodon, it’s on us to make it delicious and convenient and multi-textured and fun instead of trying to shame people into eating their soysage and unsalted soup.
I hope all of that is actually possible for Mastodon, because a lot of great people very much want it to become a more welcoming place"

Memories of a wild time. This cartoon on the front of an old issue of #vejret ("weather" magazine of the Danish meteorological society) brought it flooding back. I remember the great storm of 1987 which the UK Met Office famously failed to forecast (but #meteoFrance did!)

Danes are the 3rd richest population in the EU and they have the highest consumption based CO2emissions of all - 11 tonnes per Dane per year.

It's primarily food. And let's be really honest, it's primarily meat and dairy.

2024's book number 10 is a short but informative read on and her famous portrait bust. (Another librarian win).

What I mostly took away, apart from a nice introduction to Amarna and Akhenaten is that the alleged "science" of Egyptology appears to be mostly based on supposition, guess work and prejudice with rather thin, occasional + often contradictory evidence.
More interesting is discussion on judging it's artistic merits and what it says about the viewer
