ATTENTION Younger folks — let that sink in! You probably assumed birth control was always legal … because why wouldn’t it be?

It took a Supreme Court decision in the 1965 legalize birth control for MARRIED women; it wasn’t available to unmarried women until another Supreme Court case in 1972!

Now Republicans want to turn back the clock to make birth control illegal again — taking away women’s health choices even more than when they got the right to abortion reversed.

The ONLY thing women can do to fight this is vote for Democratic candidates at every level of government — but particularly in Federal elections. Gove Biden/Harris the majorities in the House and Srnate they need to pass Federal laws to protect our freedom of choice.

I loved the enthusiasm among the Democrats. I know there’s always applause & standing Os by the president’s party, but tonight it seemed so heartfelt, sincere and joyous — spontaneous not obligatory.
It had me jumping up and applauding in my living room. I’m so glad I watched it.

The flaw with Blanche noting that trump denies the sexual encounter, is that trump never denied it UNDER OATH, so his denial isn’t evidence in the case.

Whereas, Daniels’ compelling courtroom testimony came very close to making the encounter sound like a sexual assault (although she swears it was consensual), but trump might’ve known it was an assault, which would give trump even more incentive to cover it up pre-2016 elex.

Might be wrong here, but seems like this may be a bigger deal than a clerical error as is being widely reported:

It may be that the bond company didn't report their financials because they have insufficient collateral to secure a bond of this magnitude. In which case the bond is no good, Trump doesn't have a bond, and he is out of time.

Let's see how this gets resolved...

Here’s the timeline in an easier to follow format :

Engoron issued his findings and judgment on 2/16; an order wasn’t filed with the clerk until 2/23 (wonder why that took a week).

Originally NYAG could begin seizing trump assets on 3/25 absent a bond for $445+ mill.

On 3/21 trump got the bond amount reduced (maybe by misleading the appellate court about availability of a bond for the full amount) PLUS a 10-day extension until April 1 to file the much smaller bond!

The bond trump filed on April Fools Day (‼️) HAS NOT BEEN ACCEPTED because of multiple serious DEFICIENCIES; there won’t be a hearing until 4/22 in Engoron’s court.

All the while the NYAG has been STAYED from collecting a judgment she should have been able to start collecting on March 25. Who knows what steps trump&co are taking during this delay to make it more difficult to collect⁉️

Criminal trials & convictions (or lack thereof) aside, WE were ALWAYS gonna hafta beat trump & his fascist party the old-fashioned way — by VOTING THEM OUT with overwhelming numbers like we did in 2020 — only bigger and better in 2024.

So instead of just complaining online, let’s each try to do something constructive to mobilize the vote for Democrats this year, according to our own personal circumstances & abilities.

I remember when ”flip-flopping” was a fatal flaw in a politician.

Remember before trump got elected a woman’s right to choose her own health care (including abortion) was a Constitutional right across the land.
trump was the one who appointed three sCOTUS judges specifically BECAUSE they’d make the court’s anti-abortion wing a majority, and take that right away from women, which they did at the earliest opportunity.

We have to make sure everyone realizes there is simply no position he can take now that will make up for that.

trump’s lawyers maintain this is a pledged account, but then reveal that KSIC, the Trump Trust and Charles Schwab bank entered into a "Pledged Asset Account Control Agreement, by which KSIC can exercise the right to control the account within two business days by submitting a letter to Schwab of its intent to activate that control."

So that Pledged Asset Control Agreement sounds like trump is in total control of the so-called “pledged” assets unless or until two days AFTER Knight sends a letter to Schwab notifying of its intention to take control.

Sounds like this means when trump’s appeal is unsuccessful and the judgment is due, Knight gives Schwab two-days notice of its intent to take over the account in order to fulfill its bond, BUT in the meantime trump trust has free rein to do whatever it wants with that cash, meaning there’s no guarantee that at that future point in time when the judgment is due, the assets will even be there and unencumbered elsewhere.

I’ve lived long enough to have lived through three unforgettable horrific days in our country’s history — President Kennedy’s Assassination (Nov 22 1963), September 11 and January 6. All three were traumatic for our society— we can all remember exactly where we were when we heard of each tragedy.
January 6 was the most horrific because it signaled the beginning of the public movement to end our democracy.
Now we see writ clearly that one of the members of our highest court harbors sympathy with this detestable cause.

I don’t know if it would help at this point , but as the “trump era” kicked off with birtherism and his other openly racist tropes, I’ve thought we should bring shunning back! It served the purpose of communicating society’s disapproval & intolerance of those offensive outliers. I know it’s not a cure, but it keeps such threats to democracy out of the mainstream.
