I spent the morning switching as many accounts as I could to #Passkeys, and it was the most pleasant, simple, and straightforward process. I am disappointed that many sites are only using it as a 2FA option instead of the main sign in tool (including #Mastodon).

It's extremely intuitive, and I can't wait for all of my passwords to be gone.

There’s an amazing plethora of apps that make using this platform amazing, and I am happy to have paid for quite a few.

I wonder if the next major frontier is interfacing with donations to the supporting the server and mastodons development. I have several friends who thought paying a subscription to an app meant they were also supporting their instance and masto API development… I hope app developers make that a reality someday!

This month my heart is heavy with the deaths in Palestine and Israel. The UNOCHA report is exceptionally difficult to read.

Since October 7th, we have lost ~1400 members of our Israeli family (31 children) and 9,485 members of our Palestinian family (~3,900 children).

I cannot fathom the depth of their families pain.

It’s really exhausting to watch people who called themselves my friends call my Husband, his family, and all Palestinians “animals” that need to be wiped out for the safety of Israel.

If I unfollow them? I must enjoy the brutality of hamas and must agree with them!

If I mute them? I must hate Israel and all Jewish people.

These are nothing next the incredible suffering happening right now in Gaza, but it is quite painful.

I understand the passion of Israel and its supporters, and I certainly decry Hamas’ brutality. However, don’t use the language of genocide and expect me to tolerate or support it.

This is a master class in measuring the wrong thing. The number of KG of drugs you seized, or how many people you threw in jail, hasn’t had any impact on our daily life.
