#Milwaukee | Yesterday, in the build-up to the GOP "debate" I thought about Milwaukee. About the time I visited my Uncle and Aunt in Waukesha in 1967, and Laverne & Shirley and Happy Days and Jeffrey Dahmer—finally The Violent Femmes and Trixie Mattel.
I did NOT know Ms. Trixie recorded "Blister in the Sun!" Well done :-)
I took this photo in Milwaukee's Walker’s Point neighborhood, back in 2013. That was before the camera in my phone was any good. I miss this mural. I really liked it.

I really don't understand the person who thinks "I accept that I can't wear my shoes through the scanners or bring a bottle of water but I'm sure they will be cool with my loaded gun." Do you think that you are going to need to shoot someone somewhere between the Chili's in Concourse C and the gate?
I find using this Milwaukee Lemmy community much better now that I've blocked the dude who just posts links to shootings in the city every chance he gets.
I mean, yeah, they happen, it's a large city with a lot of people, but there's also some good stuff happening, so maybe take a break sometimes? (Or, you know, just block him like I did!)
Another sweetgreen soft opening today, this time at The Corners of Brookfield near #Wauwatosa. This is sweetgreen’s second Wisconsin location, the third is coming later this year near UW Madison. #Milwaukee
Maker Faire Milwaukee is set for November 4th & 5th, 2023 and while I was a "performer" last year (I made noise and weird art in a dark room) I just don't know what to do this year...
I mean, I used to run the Faire, but should I just exhibit now? What should I show? Should I make more weird art that can stand alone? (I think I had 7 exhibits back in 2019.)
This is a weird feeling I don't know what to do with.
@steinbring@jeramey This is my concern. The richer are now snapping up more property. Buildings and homes are going to those with deeper pockets. The owner of The Iron Horse Hotel had the passion to create something great. Will the next owner only care about turning a profit?
