We have always used the official Guild Wars 2 Twitter account as our primary place to give players updates and information on emergent game issues, among many other things. What made this channel so useful was that it allowed us to communicate quickly and succinctly, and our entire community could see the updates regardless of...
Hi folks! I'm adding a new rule under Allowed Content:
Advertisements to other fediverse communities focused on Guild Wars 2
For those of you that are new to federated social media, you might be wondering why this is important. The fediverse is decentralized. A quick browse on the default homepage of kbin.social will show you content from other instances of Kbin and Lemmy. Searching #GuildWars2 will show you even more discussion from other federated servers.
If this magazine was the only place on the fediverse to discuss the game and kbin.social shut down (or if I turned out to be an overzealous mod who decided to only allow posts about DPS minstrel core thief), then that would be a huge problem! We'd find ourselves in the same situation we're in right now with the loss of /r/guildwars2.
There's a ton of very nice people around the fediverse who discuss the game. Any assistance posters want to provide in helping us find them is welcome. The conversation is not limited to kbin!
It also doesn't show the community/magazine moderators when accessed via lemmy, so I had to look it up on the kbin.social server directly to see that you and randomm (the Randommuser from the GW2 subreddit?) are the moderators here.
Yep, that seems to be another issue that needs to be worked out. Similarly, I see the admin of my instance as the mod of any lemmy community.
(and yes, that randomm. nothing concrete on that front yet but i'd like to harness existing channels to bring more people onto federated social media :D)
With the latest expansion announced and that technically this guide was on the books for a few years, I managed to finish it! I had to borrow my husband's account for getting the Griffon mount but I think it was super worth it. Let me know what you think and feel free to share this with anyone/everyone!...
Good Morning Friends! Yesterday we got the announcement of the first expansion in the new #GuildWars2 content model. I am so freaking excited about Secrets of the Obscure and I talk a bit about some of the features discussed.
Good Morning Friends! This weekend I set aside my #ARPG grinds for a bit and picked back up #GuildWars2 working on getting my #Ranger caught up with the content. This weekend I finished out Living World Season 2 and #HeartOfThorns ultimately stopping last night when I hit Bloodstone Fen.
A painting of my #GW2#charr#mesmer. I wish I had time to play her more often! She's spec'ed as a #chronomancer, which is probably still my favorite mesmer specialization.
Still learning how this site works! Thanks to everyone who's taken a look at my art, I appreciate it & hope to spend more time here!
Morning Folks! The other day when I commented about Dragon Riding in #WorldOfWarcraft I was presented with a cavalcade of comments saying I needed to level it up to appreciate it. I've done that now. It is still a pale comparison to the systems it borrowed from in #GuildWars2
Looking for a multiplayer game to spend as much or as little time on as you like? Let me recommend #GuildWars2.
It's an MMO, yes, but one without a subscription fee, without gear grind, and it's not pay-to-win. You can literally drop out for a year, come back, and all your gear and progress are still relevant. It also has a very generous free-to-play tier, you can basically "try it out" for months.
@wintersweet Yeah I've noticed that they apparently created a little backstory cameo when they re-released season 1 last year. I haven't even played that particular instance yet, but I'm definitely looking forward to seeing him there :)
My Wizard's Vault bugged out and showed the main account page instead.. so after a bit of clicking around I managed to play Inventory Manager inside #GuildWars2
@that_shaman I wonder … you didn’t, by any chance, have a look at the HTTP headers the Wizard’s Vault is sending to the server? Because I’d somewhat expect it to send some kind of authentication token so that the server can identify which account is making the request.
Not that I think that one would actually be able to do something then with such a token¹, but it’d be interesting nevertheless.
¹ not if the system is well designed, at least. If it isn’t … oh dear.
@scy all of the web based parts use generic token authorization (just like the site in a browser does). They most likely have quite a bit of anti tampering in place and a lot of server interaction is still done by the game client itself by calling custom functions using the coui:// protocol
unfortunately, it's the only reason I still have a reddit account, but if anyone wants to read my thoughts on how today's Radiant Fire change affects willbender, here ya go <3
I'm really inspired by people like you that communicate/advocate for your spec so much (doubly so bc i also adore specter lol) so im glad I've found a way to contribute for mine :)
