Tldr: pass the env variable XDG_SESSION_TYPE=x11 to discord command
This way it's finally possible to open the share screen without it going on a loop forever with asking for you to select a thing to share with the xwaylandvideobridge!
Just installed #archlinux on my computer. Stupidly forgot to install #brltty and #espeakup before rebooting though so now have no speech. Would any sighted person out there be willing to help me login, connect to the internet, and install what I need over a #videocall? It shouldn't take too long, and I don't want to boot from the #usb again. #BeMyEyes is great, but I'd prefer help from someone who knows #linux. #blind#tech#technology#arch
Ugh, lol I'm impatient. About to say just forget it and boot from the USB again. I do need to eat, though, so maybe I should go do that and give this post some time.
I think the lack of a good screenshot utility is what's going to get me to leave #Gnome behind. The default one is not great, and none of the others that work on Wayland work for me on Gnome. Get the same errors with grim/slurp and flameshot.
I'm a novice on Lattice2, so I'd appreciate testing of all the functionality of the workbench both on recent development builds and on stable FreeCAD. I want to make sure that the fix is complete and correct on both stable and development versions before suggesting that it is ready to merge.
If you use git to install workbenches, you can do something like this if you want to test and help:
cd .local/share/FreeCAD/Mod/lattice2

git remote add johnsonm git@github.com:johnsonm/Lattice2.git

git fetch johnsonm

git checkout johnsonm/mkj-attachment-support

Feel free to comment on the pull request itself or here, I'll see it either way.
#FunFactFriday: A new fusion record has been set, with plasma being sustained for 6 minutes with 15% more energy, thanks to the tungsten lining at WEST (Tungsten (W) Environment in Steady-state Tokamak). Could tungsten be the solution for sustained nuclear fusion? News Source: https://interestingengineering.com/energy/nuclear-fusion-record-tungsten
Did another Mac thing! After a false start last night, #OpenSuse#MicroOS is now up and running. And it's blummin' fast for an old girl.
Best part is, it turns out the fastest processor this Mac can take is like £15-20 on eBay. That plus a bit of extra RAM will make this into a tidy little performer. (Not a Performa, sadly.) (Also not that little.)
For curiosity's sake, I tried my RAM again, DIMM by DIMM, and my Mac didn't like any of it at all. Tried it alongside the RAM it came with (keeping in mind what you said about mixing RAM) and I got a red LED. So... I think I will have to seek out something that will definitely work, because it's clearly not keen on what I already have. Shouldn't be too expensive, though.
As we make our five (now four) year plan more concrete, we want to come back to the high level goal and measures that help us to understand what we are doing, why, and if we are being effective.
TL;DR - We’re going to double the number of contributors who are active every week.
@fedora
This is music to my ears.
I have dabbled in Fedora contribution for a few years and it often feels like once I figure out what the current table stakes are, they turn out to be just out of reach.
