@Gina Wow! That’s fast!!! 👏

brian,

@Gina Australia is the only country I've given serious thought about moving to. 🦘

essie_is_okay,

This is beyond fucked.

Bunbury council plays 'Hot Potato' 24/7 to deter homeless people from sheltering in an empty outdoor stage.

Bunbury is having an unprecedented housing crisis, like the rest of the state, and this is the council's reaction. They did this before a few years back and got in trouble. We are about to go into a deadly hot summer, and they're pulling this shit.

Housless people are your neighbours. Look after your neighbours. Contact Bunbury Council to express your outrage over the treatment of their vulnerable residents. https://www.bunbury.wa.gov.au/contact

Who knew that I lived in such a dangerous place? 🤣

FYI when I moved to in 1999 there was a serial killer murdering women and I was a tad worried about it being a freshie on her first overseas jaunt ☠️😬

Ps: Adelaide was so quiet and provincial maybe that's why serial killers liked it there 😆

We're heading to Mills Park in Beckenham this morning to map-all-the-things. And drink coffee. And maybe talk about PTA data importing. And generally explore the world with GPS, camera, and notebook in hand.

I lived in for a year. And one of my fondest memories of Perth were the ravens. Those suckers were the size of chickens, I swear. They would perch on top of dumpsters or trees and stare at you with those beady little eyes, as if they were plotting your murder, and then they let out this long kaaaaaAAAWWWAAAH????
As if they are asking, "wtf you doin' here mate?"
Good times. 😆

wpgne,

@Bigrigtravels hey Steve: thought you'd like seeing some of this, as it features talking about Skylab, nine days after it returned to Earth (which is an event you mentioned happened around the time you began delivering newspapers):
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m6m0ejpv92o&t=450s
Skip ahead to 1:24:20 to see more of Skylab

@wpgne I actually watched the whole thing. I was watching the technical production side of so many years ago. Awesome to see. I may have even seen it the original time it aired

wpgne,

@Bigrigtravels oh, cool, Steve. I ended up watching the whole broadcast, too. Did you know the stage partially collapsed just after the show ended? I heard Bob mention this in an interview from 2015, which made me look up the 1979 pageant. https://www.perthnow.com.au/community-news/western-suburbs-weekly/chaos-reigns-at-miss-universe-pageant-in-perth-1979-c-1370462

VMcDre,

Hi there, I think it's finally time for an
I am V_McDre, but once a month I'm Heyyo B on Pattern Radio where I present Skull Monday with Opo_wan, an all vinyl, unrehearsed, sometimes chaotic 2 hours of radio.
I'm mainly here to lurk, but I hope to sometimes post music musings and other random bits.

I'll leave you with some colour I captured yesterday as Djilba starts to show herself in the Boorloo Hills.
