Istanbul is a city where you will find Ukrainians and Russians walking around on the street, although I saw a Ukrainian flag flying over the German embassy here.
And Istanbul is a city that is famously hospitable to its cats. So, today we will feature a Cat of Peace, this feline that was sitting watchfully over the turnstiles near a ferry on the Bosporus Strait.
The best part about our “voluntary union” is that you can’t even stop paying taxes to express your non-consent. You certainly can’t vote on secession, but you’d think that you could pull a #Romania and not pay taxes. But no, because our entire monetary system is made of lies and pretend money at the FED, and they’ll just hit a few keys at the SatanBox3000, make more debtor notes, then send goons to kidnap you like they did Wesley Snipes.
Breads and circuses. Today, chips and video games.
Jury nullification works both ways. Officer Chaven was convicted to killing a man (both accidentally and on purpose) who died after swallowing a lethal amount of fentanyl. The Christians/Jews in the Roman era were appalled by abortion/infanticide .. an although the Romans tried to pass laws to appease them, people were rarely prosecuted because they knew juries would acquit. (One abortionist was prosecuted for fraud, only because he charged 3x the rate for an abortion as others).
If you have a lot of jury nullification, you get dead-letter laws .. and if you have a situation where judges/juries constantly ignore the actual law (Jan 6th political prisoners in DC, Alex Jones, etc.) you reduce overall confidence and effectiveness of the court system .... jury nullification is one of the factors that can lead to collapse.
I think people have a duty to leverage Jury Nullification whenever the government is trying to charge someone for breaking one of its many vaguely worded laws that only exist on the books to selectively prosecute enemies of the state.
So we’re going to Targoviste, former capital of Wallachian Country. This is the place Dracula came from, so we will need to check his castle and royal court. Of course I have Bram Stoker’s Dracula and Machen’ Three Impostors. #romania#trip#dracula#horror#bookstodon
#starfield is a good game. Not the best, just good enough. Don’t get me wrong, the game is easy but when you play Dark Souls and Elden Ring, a lot of games are easy enough to be boring. Anyway, the game is like new #Oblivion - good looking, open world is done great, spaceships are interesting, there are a lot of caves and shitholes to explore, so yeah, it is a perfect game after weekend dinner, when you want to relax a bit with an easy game and some beverage. I am waiting for #Cyberpunk2077#phantomliberty release, so Starfield can be ‘good enough’.
@EU_Commission
Open and free connectivity is just as essential online as it is offline!
So the EU should fund open IT solutions the same ways it does for bridges and tunnels! #OpenSource#FOSS#PublicMoneyPublicCode
@outfrost the bridge here also has pedestrian and bycicle paths iirc.
Besides that, the government is having a hard time do anything for either rails or cars as well. Having a bridge like this opened in my country is a marvel in itself.
The most beautiful set of windows I have ever seen. An #abandoned casino overlooking the Black Sea. Once a place where the royalty and the elite travelled from far and wide to visit. It lay abandoned for many decades, but it is now happily under renovation.
@ObsidianUrbex The works are advancing quite a lot on it. A year ago, it looked like this.
They also found a note hidden in the walls of it, written on a piece of paper from a cement bag, with the names of some of the political prisoners doing the previous restoration works (Article translated with Google).
la Romania usa gia' il nucleare, la cosa interessante e' il tempo ridotto in cui si possono implementare questi mini reattori, non pensavo solo 5 anni.
@joaocosta Dudes, chill out. I don't think there's any drone that felt on Romanian grounds yet. People in the area were wildly filming anything moving on our side of the land as well. Do you think TikTok, Facebook or Instagram wouldn't have been full of images and video from the place of impact? 😀))
Both our civilian and military leaders are incompetent and corrupt to the bone, and I don't think they could do 10% of the shit that Ukraine is already doing in a battle against Russia, but I do not think this could have gone unnoticed by our civil society at least (or anyone living out there).
I rather tend to agree with people at Casa Jurnalistului who said that the explosion might have happened here, where the Danube makes a weird U-turn and gives the illusion that the explosion happened on Romanian land, while, instead, it happened on Ukrainian land as well.
The events are still fresh and unfolding, so I might be wrong. But still.
These are #european bison rather than imports from the #us . Thirty years ago they were almost extinct - small populations in north east #romania and north east #poland They have since been introduced elsewhere - including the #netherlands and even the #english county of #kent - somewhere normally not at all keen on anything #european !
I could spend time attempting to geolocate video footage and see who was telling the truth, but the existence of this statement indicates that Romania does not classify this incident as a direct military threat so whether it did or didn't seems somewhat secondary to that ... I'm inclined to believe that there was some spillover
