If I had to pick one reason why #Linux is the perfect dev environment for me, it'd have to be the way FTP/SFTP is integrated into #KDE#Plasma
I can create a bookmark of SFTP servers and then just open all of those locations as tabs in the file browser, Dolphin, with a single click. Then copy paste a file to each space.
Or I can open files from different servers as tabs in the same editor, KATE, and copy paste something between those files.
I don't know how Windows devs cope without this 🤷♂️
@dev_ric I mean even outside of #KDE basically every #distro makes it trivial to mount & dismout local and remote storage transparently for every application as well as...
I wounder if we'll see something with #amd64-based #Atom / #Celeron / #COREi chips similar to the NUC Extreme Kits for #Linux#PC's once the mainstream goes #ARM64 or even #RiscV-128...
About a year ago, the #8bitGuy made a video about his relatively low cost preparation for a #poweroutage using #solar, a #Solargenerator and other items. Much better than any #prepper videos on the topic I've seen since he goes thru pros and cons. This guy is in #texas and is into #retrocomputing and #retrogaming. Seems relevant especially now due to all the #disasters and problems such as the #heatdome which are leading to power outages last few years.
"Piracy can't be stealing if paying for it isn't owning"
This is increasingly how it feels, when things you "own" digitally become inaccessible, and when shows which are locked in streaming services can get delisted on a whim, disappearing forever.
