A year ago I started a little personal #Fedi project to every week share #newRelease music + a variety of other tracks from all sorts of eras & genres too.
I called it #BearTracks for my own humour & just to sort of see what I was doing.
It's over 500 tracks now. Lots of good music, quite a bit you might not have heard.
…because we had to do things ourselves & a lot of the true genius came from slightly getting #punk or #acidhouse or #jungle or whatever WRONG because we didn’t have access to it in its original form &, pre internet, simply read about it and dreamed and, like aliens trying to imagine what it’s like to be human by only reading the newspaper, we sometimes imagined the world very differently… often even the #drugs were the wrong ones & why would you have it any other way?
This club classic was released in 1990 with a video similar to the one for "Groove is in the Heart" — psychedelic. In 1995, the song got an update, and the video by #JamesHyman piggy-backed on the new #ExtremeSport mania.
I have vague memories of being into this sort of thing, including The Orb.
Also, artist Jeremy Deller made a contemporary artwork to show links between acid house and brass band music, called The History of The World. I feel that was a classy way of immortalising the scene in British art history.
I released a new track yesterday, two different mixes on the release. One mix was basically co-mixed by Discord telephoning with a buddy and the other was where we started from, which I was going to call the final mix. This track was definitely built around a groove from the #303.
"Last Train to Transcentral" is always idling under the bed—just in case I have to get up and outta here in a hurry. I'm ultimately bound for Mu Mu Land!
