I was so happy that all except one staff member at #WestcoastImaging at #UptownCentre were masked. All patients who emerged from scans, wore masks. Safe & empty waiting room. I ran into multiple unmasked people in other areas of the main medical building. I only had to respond to one antimasker person who looked at me & snickered.
I shouted - 'Don't snicker at my mask. My Dad died from covid in June. Don't be an ignorant shithead.' He was stunned into silence & 2 women clapped in parking lot.
I don't look for confrontations with #antimaskers but will definitely confront them, directly, if they're foolish enough to do/say/behave in disrespectful ways towards me. I am not allergic or fearful of confrontational moments - when I feel they're necessary.
My friend's Dad, was discharged 2 days ago from hospital after 5 weeks stay, just tested positive for #Covid19 & he's been completely isolated since discharge & only ppl who have been in his home were 2 family members & 2 community health workers - all masked with N95 all the time. My friend believes but can't prove that his Dad got #covid from people inside the hospital.
I'm advising people who have #immunecompromised#ElderlyParents who tested positive for #covid to please demand #followup#cardiac testing because it is one of the highest risks of death for elderly covid patients. This is what my Dad died from in June (long covid cardiac complications) & he never had any heart issues prior to getting covid in the hospital.
I don't want what happened to my Dad, to happen to any other family.
6 more people I know in #VictoriaBC have tested positive for #covid in the past week.
This photo's from a friend who tested positive yesterday. She works in a grocery store & wore masks but there's no mandatory masking in the store. She told me she had a cold a few days ago. I advised her to take 2 covid tests; grateful she was open to doing that. A couple of other friends aren't testing at all, despite having symptoms. I can't be around them.
It’s a week before school and B.C. still does not have an updated plan for reducing respiratory infections in schools, says Protect Our Province BC. 🏫🦠 #BCEd#BCCovid
