FYI, you can still get infected with #measles if you have had the #MMR vaccine. It does not prevent infection itself. What it prevents is the disease form of measles, which -- with vaccination -- the immune system keeps in check
What we don't know is how #covid and our friend #SARSCoV2 -- a virus that impacts the immune system's ability to keep infections in check -- will end up impacting this
It would be wise, then, to prevent measles infection entirely by filtering it out of the air
@currentbias Funny how #masks keep intruding on all conversations about #Sars_CoV2 aka #COVID19 It's almost as though they keep aerosolised infections at bay...including Measles, and Whooping Cough (Pertussis), which are doing the rounds in S. E. Qld. #BringBackMasks Put HEPA filtration units in hospitals, schools, and shopping centres.
More than 260 Ontario long-term care residents died after getting COVID-19 in last four months
CTV News

By Katherine DeClerq
“Respiratory virus outbreaks in Ontario’s long-term care homes remains dominated by COVID-19, with nearly 16,000 cases of the virus reported in the last four months.”
The alleged problem:
“...there is a confluence of factors that are driving physicians out of hospitals, and this is negatively affecting Albertans’ access to timely, acute care.”
The proposed solution:
“Match alternative relationship plan rates to current fee-for-service billing in Alberta; Incent after-hours care; Provide competitive rates for physician availability; Address and remove further compensation reductions.”
• How long have we been sounding the alarm that this was the inevitable outcome of LetErRip™?
• Is there so much denial even among physicians/hospitalists in Alberta that they may be swayed by the promise of money rather than a safe workplace?
I think we CAN win this. I think we CAN get people masking again, voluntarily. I don't think it will be easy, and I think we need to spend a lot of time and effort on hashing out a strategy, but I don't think it's impossible.
It's fundamentally rational to wear a mask to prevent the spread of disease. We have facts on our side.
SO many people only stopped masking in order to fit in, but they'd wear them again if we can find a way to give them social license and confidence.

“It’s time for our society to admit that we’ve made a mistake and change course. The COVID-is-mild experiment, despite the wishing and the hoping, has been a tragic failure.”
Many hospitals claimed that they were monitoring COVID levels and would reinstate mask mandates when COVID levels are high. Well, now we have official CDC data that shows that COVID levels are high in most of the country. Over to you, hospitals... #BringBackMasks

You know what people act like is a super big deal, but isn't at all?
Wearing an N95 in shared indoor spaces.
You know what people act like is no big deal, but is a huge one?
Getting sick with a brain-destroying vascular virus that persists and actively replicates in your organs, brain, and possibly bone marrow after symptoms are gone.
For some reason, the decision to wear a respirator is hard for some people, but I can't figure out why.
