MRMS Recurrence Interval on rainfall over and for the past twelve hours suggesting rainfall totals exceed a 40 year rainfall in isolated locations with most places getting a 4-8 year rainfalls. A 40 year rainfall won't actually have any relationship to a 40 year flood, but we are seeing some pretty steep rises on river gages in the region. Major on the Bronx River earlier and most recently the Saddle River. Stay safe folks!

expected for greater New York area. To read NOAA’s forecast discussion, open the map, click inside any red-outlined area, follow the link. The screenshot is from the discussion for Long Island and an area to the north.

NOAA says they will have a better idea later this a.m. where heaviest rain will fall.

Head's up Mid-Atlantic, going to be a wet night. National Water Center has highlighted your region for potential. Most likely hydro impacts include urban and street flooding along with the potential for small stream flooding.
